Apart from the patch itself, which is great news ... I'd love to read a full report on the track day you had, Scawen. May fit well in the General Racing Talk section. So... please
"The problem was rain and his (Hamilton's) tyres were in the worst condition. But we weren't at all fazed about Kimi. We weren't racing Kimi, we were basically racing Fernando."

I see, thanks . But those lines are marking the orientation of the car. After the first hit the car should rotate a bit just as is seen in those images but I can't see why it should change the trajectory of the car, let's say, some degrees to the right. I can understand better if that would vary the trajectory some degrees to the left and that would mean a smaller frontality (?) in the hit. I think I'll stop here, It's as painful for me to try to express something in English as the hit was for Robert I must say: we (at least me) need some official data
Aargh, noo, I won't make a manual 3d restitution!! (or whatever it is called in english) That would be by far more precise, but takes lots of time. Heheh, ok no problem, that was just my opinion since it's a bit hard to judge from what we have seen from videos
I know there are inaccuracies but that's roughly 24º. Even considering actual walls doesn't match 100% those on the photograph the angle wouldn't go much higher than 30º. So my point of view is that the circuit safety is not as bad as it seems and the car safety is again not as good as is seems (ok ok he got out unhurt ). That's all I can tell with my english
Heheh, I wonder how did you know that, but yes, you are right. Let's hope they'll try to educate people a bit, but we'll have to wait until 2009 to see what happens
I've studied about Earthquake resistant design (ERD), and for what I know, here in Europe we shouldn't worry much about our security, at least in most of the cases
The same for me at the second try. Also my pc rebooted the first time while loading a spr. It saved a minidump. I can provide more details and the dmp file if needed.
I doubt GPS scanning is the only way to do that. I guess you can get a very accurate track surface representation by simple telemetry analysis. And again, possibly, for free! Add this to the architectural/engineering data you already have and you have done it for free. In fact someone else has done it for you. Remember there are lots of ways for working things out.
Edit: heheh, I remembered a spanish sentence: "matar moscas a cañonazos" > "killing flies with cannon shots" This comes to my mind when I think of GPS/laser scanning.
Hi. Why close the tracks and measure every cm of them? I work as an architect and I can´t help but thinking that track owners already have precise architectural/engineering loads of data about it and its surroundings. That information would be a necessary part of the deal, and there would be no reason for them to not share it. I think the main job is the fine tunig of the tarmac, and shouldn't be that hard.
I hope you can undertand my english and also my point of view.
Similar error here while configuring the race (setting number of laps). I think it happened when returning to track, but not sure about it. I just got a crash (went straight to desktop). No actions done by me in that precise moment, btw. Patch V. MecaHost-[FB] Team server.
Regards (and sorry for my english)
Edit* Ouch!, I've just seen that's not the correct address to provide. Sorry about that.
