I don`t see the point racing against random unknown people just to score some safety/irating points to get access to new cars that u have to pay for + that the championships probably will force u into buying new tracks. Clever strategy by iRacing to earn money, but it`s not for me.

What Tracks Are Included In The Initial Subscription?
Lime Rock Park x 2 (with or without the chicane)
Laguna Seca
Summit Point x 4?
South Boston
Lanier
Oxford Plains
Lowe's Motor Speedway x 4

--------------------------

What annoys me is that there is only 3 road tracks we get and the rest is ovals. This annoys me when i think about the cost of buying additional tracks. I would have wanted to exchange those 4 ovals with 4 road tracks.

13$ a month if you pay for 1 year subscription. Considering how low the dollar is worth nowadays its affordable (atleast for me). What annoys me is that to get more content u have to pay. I think i will wait and see before i get a subscription.

If you folks find rFactor hard to drive, then i guess it`s good u n00bs stay away from that game then.

Niels: Well, the ISI engine is kinda a mess, so the input must be totally "crazy and unrealistic" in order to achieve reasonable real output.

And i`m not talking about sine waved scripted bumps but the "polygonated" bumps, although the sine waved gives those polygonated bumps a better feeling.

In most simracing games the tracks are pretty flat and if there are bumps on them they dont affect the car in a way it should.

Well, i am not taking the scientific approach to this issue, i just base my opinion on what i "feel", so yes...i`m a troll, clown and all that

The rFactor PCC07 mod physics is the most realistic physics ever in any simracing game. Apparently the modders have got input from a real life Porsche Cup driver and it shows.
Try it on a track with lots of bumps.

Netkar Pro is not so difficult apart from the damage model which is sooo sensitive, touch wheels and your race is over

The other point is that rFactor development havent stopped either, it`s just the new development will turn into rFactor 2. It`s the same developers. Ok, you must pay for the new functionality, but the same do u with LFS s1 to s2 and eventually s3.

rFactor have come with patches from version 1.00 to 1.255. And the content from rFactor will most likely be converted to rFactor 2 if not the developers include it.

Quote from tristancliffe :Actually long live LFS, RIP rFactor (because rFactor 2 will come out, and make everything done so far in rFactor obsolete [and if it IS backward compatible with mods, I'd wager huge bugs in the conversion]). At least with LFS it's still LFS1, and there won't be any cars suddenly broken

amazing logic

Quote from deggis :Maybe the good editing in the video helps but it's amazing how they've managed to do that look that good, regarding ISI engine's "fidelity" in replays.

Poor fps, poor netcode. Ok, for a free game. Nice car to put in rFactor though

Quote from aristotelis :Thank you for the free offence. No hard feelings though, I understand what makes you think like that.

Fortunately for all, this is by no way a rip off. We have simbin/blimey! permission AND support and we've been working behind this 1st release for months and months trying to recreate the cars as they where in their original state back to the 60's and 70's. New skins, 3D models, cars, cockpits, physics and sounds. Heck we even have a GTL DVD check on our installer since we do use GTL original stuff.

Endless hours of brainstorming with Niels too on msn... we are trying to understand how the ISI engine works and push it a little bit more. I'm not saying of course that this is the best mod ever, far from it. But we do try and pay lot's of attetion to detail.

Soon you will be able to judge foryourselves. We only ask to not judge without trying.

Thank you

Ok, didnt know this, but since all the cars shown is featuring in GTL aswell i got suspicious, oh well, thanks for the new info and good luck with the release

I can`t install this demo, Steam ****s up here and the only thing that is installed is a big .sid file in windows/temp/race07demo directory + a few small files.

Anyone know how to extract that .sid file?

Quote from tristancliffe :Please tell me which plugins to make it look and feel realistic (other than one car, the 'Vette, and the real-feel plugin).

1. Looks horrid in each though
2. Might be good netcode, but only ever 2.3 people online at any given moment
3. Large modding community, but only 3 or 4 that have a clue what they're doing
4. Leagues getting better (I'll take your word for it - I wouldn't want to have to use rFactors physics in a competitive (i.e. for points) race situation.
5. Isn't this, the dev corner, the same point as number 3?

Point 5: I mean like "You can make mods and plugins for the game without so much hassle if you are skilled enough"

Quote from Zachary Zoomy :can someone please give me 5 reaseons I should try rFactor.

Reason 1: You can run it in either DX7, DX8 or DX9 mode to suit your graphic card performance. Framerate is quite good.

Reason 2: It has some of the best netcode, although it can be better, but racing against 40++ other persons on a server havent i experienced in any other simracing game.

Reason 3: A large modding community and a great site for legal mods:
www.rfactorcentral.com
+ a site for both legal and "illegal" mods:
www.racesimtracker.com

The mods (cars, tracks, plugins etc) are of various quality so be selective.

Reason 4: More support for organised online racing are popping up with live streaming etc. http://www.prosimracing.com/ is one example of that.

Reason 5: rFactors development tools -> http://www.rfactor.net/index.php?page=devcorner

rFactor is a very customisable game and it has both its advantages and disadvantages. But after trying some quality mods lately and some nice plugins the game has been transformed into a new game which actually feels realistic and looks realistic.

Modding suxx. The content in LFS are superbly done and if the users gonna start making cars and tracks the quality level will drop significantly which is not gonna be good for LFS`s visual quality.
