The rFactor developers should talk to the LFS developers to get advice about how to make realistic physics. After plenty of years ISI still doesnt know how to make real physics, while LFS already have it from S1.

For me rFactor is an arcade game and all those usermade addon cars are just making the game more arcadeish and wrong, the Corvette included.

Put your efforts into making cars for LFS instead of rCraptor, afterall this is a LFS forum.

Both points are very valid and have nothing to with "arcade".

Point 2 is for quali on ovals, otherwise people can take advantage of slipstreaming in the quali.

Niels: Btw, have you developed own tyre files for your mod or have u taken them from somewhere else?

I am just curious about how much the tyres affect the handling/physics. I still havent tested your mod though :/

Dunno what logic u use here, but rFactor costed approximately the same as LFS s2 for me. 284 NOK vs 279 NOK (Norwegian Kroner).

That compared to Simbin games which costs around 400 NOK.

LFS certainly have to take advantage of DX9 sooner or later. Day/Night transitions and weather effects that are in some simracing games nowadays is something that adds to the atmosphere and the racing itself. Use of shaders and objects having dynamic shadows adds to the atmosphere.

Some people might think that this is just some unescessary hollywood effects, but it isn`t. Racing is about handling every kind of circumstances and e.g see the light/shadows change during a race is an experience that affects your driving performance.

And the performance of the newest CPU`s and graphics cards today is very good, so in a year it should be affordable for most people to have an ok PC that can run DX9 stuff well.

But then again people will change to Vista and more power is needed

Wtf, that F1 car is like a rally car, seems like the car is turning around a pivot point in the center and has unbelievable slip angles. Why o why did i thought LFS was so true to life.

I hate rFactor because of:

- Cartoon graphics
- Totally unrealistic physics
- The tracks are very poor and have no bumps, i guess the physic engine cant handle bumps.
- Crap cockpits
- Horrible collision detection
- The netcode sucks, warps all the time
- The rFactor community is full of idiots that bashes other simracing games all the time and say that rFactor is so real without them having real knowledge about the real cars.
- Game runs 18 fps on a 3 GHz PC...real bad 3d engine, LFS runs 150 fps, beat that

ISI sucks and will always do that.

rFactor is a game for children with its cartoon look and total stupid physics. It`s just idiots that use that game.

LFS is best and will be that forever, can`t wait for S3

Dunno what PC`s you got, but i can run rFactor fine with a 5 year old PC in DX8 mode. And for those with not so good gfx cards there is always Directx 7 mode.

Remember to get rid of all that spyware on your PC`s if things is running slow and don`t reinstall the graphic card driver over the old one without completely removing the old one.

Anyway, with Windows Vista and DX 10 i guess everyone will be forced to update sooner or later as games probably will be pure DX 10 based in some years.

Seems like many people here think modding is about using a legobuilding tool, well it could be, but 3D Studio Max is the way to go or some other alternatives. Infact its not that hard to make a track or car in a 3D program when u know the techniques, but sure it`s alot of work.

Drivers Republic use peer to peer sharing. The clients have an option if they wanna share their files or not. Quite irritating if they dont if there is no alternative download location
