Unfortunately our famous and loved rTracker.org has gone offline! This is such a shame, such a great site where you could get almost anything, and now it's gone.

We really couldn't let this happen, we miss rTracker to much. Unfortunately there was no way to get in contact with Sn34ky, the owner of rTracker.

In the end, we decided that this couldn't happen ! We really need a torrent sharing site for all our racing games ! So here we are a brand new start from scratch with the SAME RULES, FAIR ratio, and FREE for all, PERIOD!

RaceSimTracker does not only support Live For Speed, but all race games. You can share anything you like here in these categories.

We really need uploaders at the moment and Moderators! if you were a part of rtracker.org, staff or moderator/uploader. PLEASE feel free to join in again and send me a PM or mail me directly on [email protected].

Not to be negative, but I think that for LFS to have such a tracker, is quite pointless, seeing most addons are a few Mb's, so a torrent for such a small item is quite pointless. I think that for rFactor and GTR with their 400 MB's for a crap track, a torrent might be useful, but LFS with like a few Mb, texture addons or like under 1 MB layouts and setups.

I say torrents are very inefficient and ineffective for LFS, atleast at this time.

Well it's there if you want it. It's there for everyone and every sim so no your not being negative you have a point, but still use it if you want too

rtracker is down, so maybe the rfactor community would apreciate a website like this more since they have some pretty huge mods. can't wait for the F1 1979 patch.

I understand that, but advertising it on a LFS forum, where most addons are very very tiny, and a tracker is pointless for that, maybe if we get addon tracks\cars, having a tracker\torrent client built into LFS to share tracks would be nice, but until that point, I think diverging from this kind of conversation would be a good idea.

Well it's a tool for all sim , I'am mainly working on LFS side not like rfactor so im not advertising it for that, if its not a good Idea at this present time then sorry but LFS Dev's or community can still use this for backups.

why torrents?

Fast (if people seed properly), Effective, saves on server costs, anyone can share files.

They use torrent so they can spread the "illegal rfactor mods" in the same way that other warez are distributed these days

Too many modders that rips stuff anyway these days.

Frankwer - torrents are extremely effective when used properly. At better torrent trackers you don't worry if you can get the file or not, you worry if you can seed the while enough.

Unfortunately frank's right.. he didn't say torrents are illegal (which of course they're not), but rTracker would happily distribute content ripped from anywhere, no questions asked.. such as the GTR2 rips, Macau from RACE, various mods from normal modders that had been hacked by wannabees without permission etc.

None of the pages work for me anyway in Firefox.. only the index and FAQ.. everything else results in a plain white page

Private trackers, try DLing what you want, while keeping a seedable ratio, very difficult to do, because you need to DL stuff that people will DL from you, even if you don't need it. Torrents are effective, I agree, and for other sims with large addons, Great, use torrents. I just think for LFS, a torrent tracker is very overkill at this point in time. However, I would like to see on such a tracker, that you need to keep up a specific ratio, to ensure that there are seeds for everything.

It took me only a day and a half to get a ratio of 3:1 on that site. If you got no restrictions on your monthly bandwidth, just leave the computer turned on for the night and that ratio will take care of itself.
