Quote from UncleBenny :I kind of agree with that, but at the same time no real tracks/cars is one of the things I really like about LFS. Every other game tries to be realistic with tracks and cars but fails miserably at the physics. LFS has got the physics to make the game great, and having original(yet still realistic) cars and tracks gives LFS a different feeling than racing on the same real world tracks as every other game, like LFS is its own little world. The thing is, most other people don't see it that way and that's why in reality, no real tracks/cars probably hurts LFS in the end.

My thoughts exactly

Racing in the MRT in a series with custom autocross gokart style tracks, I was easily leading the field one race and thought I'd show off over the finish and wacked on the handbrake to spin out over the finish line..... only to pull up a foot short.... with no reverse gear....... I finished 5th. :bananadea

Is there and applet available for LFS to display data on the G15's LCD screen? If so where do I find it? If not, can someone make one?

Quote from Gabkicks :32 cars, false starts. etc blah blah

Yeah and like I said, it's already available... Patch X won't be anything new.

Why all the hype about patch X anyways? It's not going to be any different to what we have in the final W test patch and the only thing thats delaying it is bug fixing....so much anticipation for something we already have..... I don't get it.

Analog throttle & brake inputs ftw!

If you want to get the most out of this game buy a wheel if you can afford it ...but if you can I suppose you could afford the licence too

There is no problem. If someone really wants an S2 licence for free they will find all the right answers. As for the 3 consecutive quick laptimes I think you could probably go easy there as long as the driver shows he has some idea on how to drive a race car properly (atleast showing consistancy)... but answering all those answers is possible for anyone with a net connection to do.

Personally I'm a lazy bastard who would much rather just fork out the dosh

As Shaun said, Chaz's 1 lap pace isn't the fastest out there, but he can do just about WR times lap after lap in an endurance race and not **** up once, and do it race after race. Absloutely freekin bloody fast, Vettel wouldn't stand a chance Smile Although he hasn't raced much at all in a long time, must have got bored with us slow aussies.

Banning mid race join is the devil. It's what help keeps rfactor server numbers low, don't ruin LFS too!

My Team has organised and ran 2 oval events featuring the FZR and XRR over 100 laps complete with race control and a safety car. Non stop intense action to be had and probably some of the best racing I've seen and been apart of.

But pick-up races on the oval just isn't going to work, because there's always a couple of ppl from "Group 1" as mentioned above.

Quote from axus :I can't believe that anyone can say that the old sounds are better than U33 apart from the BF1 which is still arguable. Every other car has moved forward. Still, its undeniable that they still need work.

They are getting to a sort of roaroraroooooooommm now, if that makes any sense, so definitely closer to the desired "rrroooooaaaaawrwrrwrrwararararrrrrrr". (desired sound by ORION.)

I can't believe the opposite lol. The sort of a rrrrooooooaaaaawwwwrwrwrwrwwrrrrrrr you speak of sounds laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame to me and I don't think generated sounds will ever sound anything but lame. I really hope the devs can prove me wrong if this is the direction they want to take.

Just went for a spin around south city and slammed into a few walls. Some eerily quiet impacts I must say. I won't mention the 1000 other dissapointments I have with the new sounds. Do we really need to tell the devs what's wrong with them? It should be obvious.

Play rFactor's v8's or F1's or porsche etc, then play LFS....... it really does sound pathetic.

Sorry if my post isnt very constuctive, I just really hope the devs get the point because sound is a major part of gaming and if done badly it can ruin even the most excellent gameplay. I don't wanna have to stick to U30 forever just because the sound is horrible.

Quote from danowat :As they are, the sounds are so one dimensional, we need sound layers, I am sure this can be possible with the current sound engine, but I think that if we have induction noise, exhaust noise, and mechanical noise on 3 seperate sound layers, the cars will sound a lot better, at the moment it sounds so one dimensional and flat.

Well said.

I wonder if the devs were expecting this response? I sure hope so or else the future of sound in LFS aint gonna get any brighter...

Quote from AndroidXP :Well, I have to say, living in Europe, from the 310 available servers only 15 had a ping of over 250ms and only one over 500ms. So while in the end ping surely *is* a criterion, I cannot say that I ever actively pay attention to it.

See, this is the problem us Aussies are faced with. Being so isolated from everyone else it's hard to race with those from overseas who join our servers and hard for us to join over seas servers as well without there being a lag problem. There are some good European servers where it doesn't seem to be much of a problem for me but other's are just chaos and impossible to race especially with bigger fields. I guess the main thing is if you join a laggy server, leave! It's better for all. But I'm going off topic anyways so I'll shuttup now
Enforcer-J

What about Ping? I think that's pretty important as LFS can become pretty frustrating when theres a lot of lag. Not much point in joining a server with +500 ping and a lot of cars, yet some ppl do illepall

Fixed classes is something I look for as well, nothing worse than lapping at fern club in an XRG when a BF1 starts zooming around and taking everyone out because they cant control the thing let alone on a tiny track.

So basically, I try to join servers without morons in them I guess

Spa? Nurburgring? Laguna Seca? Bathurst? Blah.

been there, done that..... and with the current crop of LFS cars half of them wont get any use out of these big long boring tracks anyway.
Or maybe rfactor's physics have put me off these tracks?

Anyway, bring on the short sharp and shiny tracks, thats where the funs at
