"over"heating is not the good word for it. But the motors get really hot. And maybe they live a little longer if they are cooled? Also the fan speed/noise is adjustable.

Very nice, I did something simular. But I also used the "grill" at the backside (the one you removed) as a dust filter. I can make a picture if you like.

Sorry Grigorov, don't have the dimensions anymore. But it wasn't difficult to make. Just take the original metal plate as template. You can put the metal plate on a piece of paper and draw the outline and holes on it.
I hope this will help you.

Did anyone tried Eyefinity with a central monitor (1920 x 1200) and two side monitors (1280 x 1024)?
Or must all three monitor have the same resolution?

Quote from scipy :Look, you are taking things way too personally. The way in which I've "bashed" your effort is only against your idea and the time spent on developing something utterly useless. I don't know you as an individual, I don't know your background or anything else - but this is exactly why every argument I've made was based on sound logic and only aimed against this specific thing that you've made. I didn't start bashing your family or saying you should be banned or your whole thread deleted.

You've just done something stupid and useless, as everyone will at some point in their life, I know I have. But instead of actually reading what I wrote (and it prolly is the best suggestion for a "telemetry application" for now), you've just skipped over the whole thing and continued to hold to your own story like a drunk person holds a handrail. You cannot call this application "telemetry", it has nothing to do with telemetry. You say to boothy "if u agree with scipy - ok, but we should remove all his posts and his access to this thread". Why? Just because you feel ur effort is threatened by my "radical" ideas of maybe having something actually usefull?

Stop using double standards. You cant say criticism is welcome and then pick in which format you're gonna get it. My first post was a heat of the moment reaction because I literally COULD NOT BELIEVE someone would spend time making this sort of an application _AGAIN_. There's loads of virtual dashboards and server side trackers/lappers, so for anyone to spend time making something 97 % the same with other 3 % being again completley useless features, was completley beyond me. As for the stupidity comment, other than making you feel bad, what's wrong with it? I did not say anything untrue, this was a stupid thing to do, you did it - deal with it.

When jasonmatthews asked what I think would be good additions and his F9-F12 idea - I posted a solution for both. U've obviously skipped over that too, at least I've read your whole posts before passing any kind of comment.

Instead of going on and on how this is only a "early version" of your "telemetry" application and how you're gonna remove some silly features and add some questionable ones, why don't you opt for a different approach and abanndon this whole project. You could actually help the community and all the endurance teams if you made an actual telemetry application. My programming skills are limited to highschool C++ and that only enables me to make MSDOS based applications, like the one for calculating average laps over a stint while ignoring in/outlaps. Your whole argument "why don't you do a better job instead" is an argument fallacy, if you have the skillset necessary - why don't YOU do a better job than you did.

And as for the "me being a forum troll and hanging around too much" argument, I don't think 250 posts in more than 3 years supports your argument (neither does 240k km driven online). So, please stop trying to argue your point simply because it's only YOUR point and generally wrong, and instead try and make something useful.

This post reaches the limit of the time I'm willing to spend trying to re-educate you, so I guess only thing left to say is.. good luck.

Maybe this application is "useless" for you, but maybe not for a lot of other people.
The usefulness of something is not defined by logic.
Maybe people only want information (already accessible in the game, I know) displayed in an other format.
Or there could be other reasons to use this aplication and is it your narrow vision that doesn't allow you to see that.

Quote from jasonmatthews :Has anyone been able to get LFS working in Dual monitor setup with NVidia card in Windows 7 or Vista?

As far as I know, these OS's do not support span mode at all. After some research, I read somewhere that the only way to achieve this is if the game itself provides the multi monitor setup.

I would love to be able to use dual monitor, especially with this new patch, but cannot for the life of me get LFS to register the extra resolution settings of the 2nd monitor, unless I am missing something?

Same problem here with an Ati card and Windows 7

I had the same problem (with G25 and a black momo)
If you turn the wheel very fast, the sensor (at the back of the ff motor) is failing to see all the tittle "holes" in the gearing wheel.
In my case the solution was very simple, I just bended the sensor (the emitter and reciever) a little closer to each other.
And the problem never came back

Quote from Glenn67 :To say experienced drivers wouldn't choose to drive the slower cars is totally incorect and even bordering on arrogant imo. I choose to drive most of the time in road cars, it's a choice that has nothing to do with experience, competitiveness or the size of my epenis

sorry I didn't want to offend anyone, but in real life every racedriver want's to procede to a faster race class if he get's the change.
the ultimed goal always is the F1.
Maybe in LFS people are happy to stay in those little cars.
That's perfectly fine, but not for me.
A car is never fast enough

The ABS option is available for the slow cars only. It make's it easier for beginners. It helps them driving their first laps, so I think it's a good thing..
More experience drivers don't drive these slow cars anyway.

A program that sends/receives LFS-data to another pc in a lan network, so that I can have a rearview in realtime through a second pc.
If a had a program that can do that I'm planning to use a second pc and a little monitor as a rearview mirror.
I hope you understand what I mean.

Nice program, now at work I can follow my friend on a secondary screen.
Maybe in the next version it is possible to make the program window bigger so it can fill up the whole screen?

Quote from NitroNitrous :One tip more:
- If you can, put the pedals on vertical
It is 100% better

???
The closer the turning point of your feet (your heel) to the turning point of the pedal the better.
That's why all fast formular cars have the turning point of the pedal on the bottom of the car.
For road cars it's easier (therefore cheaper) to place the turning point above your feet.
If you want to copy a road car that's ok, but it is NOT better !!!

I have made a fan at the back of my G25, I noticed at a warm day the ff-motors get really hot.
I modified the wheel so an extra fan was no problem.

LFSRelax has a pitspotter buit in (along with some other programs).
You don't need the old pitspotter (it doesn't work anymore with the new patch)

Quote from Gai-Luron :What's your config in LFSConfig
DxR, DxL, DxB, DxF?

Edit: On slow machine, PitSpooter don't work correctly ( i try it on an old computer ). What is your frame Rate on LFS and your config?

Gai-Luron

Config is standard.
Frame rate on my gamecomputer ( http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=473517#post473517 ) is more than 100 FPS with a full grid, on my old computer (pentium 3,2 Ghz + 6800GT) it is +/- 70 FPS
On these computers and on a computer of a friend it makes the same mistake every time so it can't be the hardware.
If you play the replay and watch my car, you don't hear nothing wrong in turn 4/5 ?

Quote from Gai-Luron :Change to 1.47
I look for 10 laps, and i view nothing abnormal. Can you more explain the problem? one time you pass a car stopped and pitSpotter say nothing, it's normal because your speed is more higthter.
The second time you pass a car, pit Spotter say correctly where this car is.
Sorry, but i don't understand . In other case, cars in front of you are to far.
Gai-Luron

in turn 4 or 5 of the first lap it says left or right a few times when there is no car. I heard the same mistake on 2 computers, but if you hear nothing wrong than it must be computer related somehow?

I just tested it on the replay of the last OWRL race, and it stil makes big mistakes. In turn 4/5 you can see/hear what I mean:

Quote from SpikeyMarcoD :If we are going that way they should be varied for the car you are running at a certain time. The amount of speed can be very influential in the reaction time you need to avoid collisions and should be in the settings pitspotter uses.

No that makes it way to complicated, make it work like the old pitspotter and I'm happy.

About the monitor, if you place it closer to your face, it looks alot bigger.
I never understood why people place there monitor so far.
