+1 for this. It won't affect anyone adversely. If you don't want to race in a Race_S setup only server you don't have to. But it would make a lot of paying customers very happy if this was somehow made a reality.

It would be lovely to see some servers out there running this option, and there would be plenty of regular "tweaked setup" servers as well. It can do no harm whatsoever, and can only strenghten the appeal of this game to newcomers and maybe even long time racers fancying something different...

it would have helped me so much better to learn "racecraft" when I first got lfs if everyone had the same setup. I didn't discover setupfield for a long time, and was constantly being left behind and hit because I was braking earlier than ppl were used to due to using the standard setups. Also off the line I was causing problems to ppl because of poor gearing compared to the tweaked setups. And in terms of racecraft I was trying to overtake in strange places because my standard setup was wildly different to mostly everyone elses (using tweaked setups).

It would be great to have this as an option for people who want it. People who don't want it are not affected in the slightest by it.

I can no longer use AA or AF in LFS. It just won't activate. Jaggy lines etc. really bad compared to having AA and AF on. I turn it on in the ATI settings as normal but nothing seems to work!

It works in cmx viewer and all my other apps but not LFS, just stopped working for some reason?

I hope some of you may be able to give me some help.

Yup, after reading the direct x issue in another couple of threads I gave it a go and voila! problem solved

No, it's the same as what Slopi is describing, nothing like your problem I'm afraid. It doesn't crash it just hangs while the sound distorts and then you've skipped forward (normally into a wall or another racer). The sound distortion happens in the menus as well as racing. It makes racing totally unplayable.

Can anyone help us solve this problem? I absolutely hate it when patches are released and break something that was otherwise working fine! So frustrating!

I understand things needed fixing, and I support LFS, so can Slopi and I please get some help or advice so we can fix this and continue enjoying LFS like we were with version U?

I've had a sound problem since installing the patch. I have a weird noise inducing a freeze on my screen at random times. It happens in the menu, while racing, any time LFS is running. (The only close way to describe it is it's like the noise the agents make in the matrix when they appear, kind of a distorted dial up noise). I've tried downloading and installing the new client from scratch instead of just patching but it does the same thing. Nothing has changed on my system between version U and V, and I have no sound problems in any other games or programs. When the sound distorts other racers report me jumping all over the track as if I'm lagging, and teamspeak (I use this prog to communicate with my friends while racing) distorts in the same way.

Can anyone help please as it's making LFS unplayable for me right now.

Hi all, I don't post much here but do keep checking the forum every now and then and I have done a search so please forgive me if this has been brought up before.

Me and my bro were just doing some laps and wondered what it would be like to take part in an endurance race. I mean we never have been in a race where changing tyres and tyre/fuel strategies have come into play, or not had to worry about the odd cock up knowing you've got more than 2 laps to make it up (as most pubby online servers have such short races).

All the leagues etc. I have looked at seem so complicated, it's hard to understand how to apply or get into them.

Does anyone know of any servers where you can turn up and qualify for such a race? With real organisation?

I'm not the fastest racer, I can keep in contention and capitalize on mistakes of those bloddy FZR's in my FXR but I like to think I race fair and yeild when I'm outbraked, and will back off rather then take both of us out in a battle, preffering to (or at least try) get my revenge in the next series of corners Even if there were two or more races with racers grouped together by times to ensure close racing?

I hope something like this exists, and someone can point me in the right direction.

I've often wonderd this myself, would be nice to have a series where everyone is equal in terms of machine, with driving skill deciding the outcome of a race not who has the best setup

I wish I knew how the hell to get in a league, I've had a look but it's not clear which ones are active and how to apply/join in... it's not very accessible to newcomers to the league scene unfortunately

either that or I'm being slow (as usual lol) in more ways than one

I'd love to join in an FXR or XFR league etc. I love driving those cars and get fed up with being taken out time and time again on public servers by people who don't even apologize or even acknowledge they've done something wrong

It's not like it's all the time but when it does happen boy does it incite angry feelings and I don't like that so I just log off and find another (nearly empty) server...

Is anyone posting in this thread part of a league? If so which one?

My favourite is the FXR on, due to the fact it's the only car I can keep up with the "pros" with :spin:

And recently I have discovered the joys of XFR racing, really close racing and the pace is a welcome break from the sometimes brain-frying BF1 and hectic GTR's

So, FXR with XFR slowly catching up

(Thinking about it more, I can't really pick one or two. I had a blast this afternoon/evening trying out cars and tracks I hadn't touched before, and found them to be so entertaining in their variety, I couldn't possibly single one out as being my favourite! I think for me this is the essence of LFS)

something to do with the exchange, I'm no technical person so I didn't understand most of the stuff they were saying (confused me with science...), but they were aware of the problem already from other complaints so it wasn't just me...I would give them a call mate, worked for me, 0 packet loss now according to ping plotter, and my LFS multiplayer is smoooooth

You're right, I have no worries downloading or with any other online games, I play WH40k regularly and UT2004 etc. no probs
