I'm normally quite conservative, consistent and easy on the tires. Alas, I'm far from the fastest because of it. Also, I never quit to the pits if I can help it. Even if I damage my car, I'll limp back to the pits for repairs to stay on the lead lap if I can. Of course, if I flip, get stuck, or the car is damaged beyond driveability, I don't have a choice.

For example, the other day, I joined a race with 20 other competitors. I hadn't raced the current car/track combo before, so I pulled over at the start to let everyone go by. While a lot of people are crashing and taking each other out, all I did was keep it on the track and finished 5th!

Whoops, sorry for the repost. I didn't see it in the improvement suggestions log. I'll conduct a more thourough search next time.

A friend showed it to me about three years ago. I vowed that some day I would have a machine (I only had a Mac at that time) and a wheel that I could play it on. A few years later, it happened. The wait was worth it.
Timed races less than one hour

Maybe I just don't know how to do it, but I would like to be able to create a timed race that's less than one hour long. For example, 30 minutes or 15 minutes. I may be missing something, but as far as I can tell, the minimum time is one hour, right? I like to think it's a realistic suggestion that sounds easy to impliment, but what do I know, I'm not a programmer. Perhaps if you could enter a decimal for the time, e.g. 0.5 hours=30 minutes?

Thanks for the great game Scavier!

I have the same thing happen. If you don't log in within about 10-15 seconds, it gives a timeout message and you have to reload the page.

I think I've done a whole two laps with the BF1. Just never got around to racing it.

Personally, I don't use Shift-S if at all possible. If there's an incident that I'm involved in, I'll make sure I'm out of the way of other cars first. Then I'll get back on the track only once it safe to do so. I'll then head back to the pits for repairs, if need be, staying out of everyone's way.

The reason I always do this is because, a lot of the time, most people in a pickup race will crash at some point and use Shift-S. That leaves me with a lot of podiums because, aside from the leaders, I'm the only one to not use Shift-S.

You're never going to be able to prevent racers from quitting when they want. They just have to shut off the computer, or unplug their internet, or whatever.

Quote from Tony01Ball01 :faster than a really fast thing.

LOL!

Unfortunately, I've had a lot of experiences like that too, but they certainly do not outweigh the good. The biggest problem I have is not being able to keep up! However, I've got a lot of podiums just by staying consistent, clean and out of trouble.

Alas, the worst part is restarting with all those fast (and most of the time, impatient) racers behind me. I just try to stay out of the way, but they end up taking themselves, and sometimes me, out in turn one.
The ghost AI of FE Green.

As I was hosting a practice session earlier today at FE Green, I got a strange message. See attached image. We were using version 0.5T. There were three real racers on the track, including myself. The only cars that were allowed in the race were the UFR and XFR. The WR for the UFR is around 1:10. There were no AI in the race. At the time, there was no one near the start/finish line except me. As you can see by the screen capture, the message said, "LFSW - AI drove a new pb: 58.72"

I think FE Green is haunted.

Today, I was hosting a race at FE green using the UFR and the XFR. One of my fellow racers accidentally flipped his car at the kink on the back straight. He reset his car and it placed him in the grass. Unfortunately, his car would not move, even after trying to reset his car.

After looking at the replay, it did not appear that he was hung up on anything, nor was he in sand, obviously. He was also facing slightly downhill. See attached screen captures. We were using version 0.5T.

I seem to remember the same thing happening to me at the same place during practice earlier in the day, but I didn't think anything of it then--I thought it was an isolated incident. I believe this may be a problem, considering my fellow racer had to quit back to the pits, which cost him the race.

Would someone be so kind as to render my new private BF1 skin with white wheels at 1280x1024? I'm not too picky about angles or whatever. Thanks in advance!

OK, OK. By popular demand, here's a public version of the Canadian BF1 skin. Feel free to put a number on it (not 71,) and/or your name/flag on the cockpit.

Quote from aoun :Well.. if you upload it to LFSWorld and race online with it, people are going to get it in their skins_x file..so meh..

Yes, I know, but usually people are nice enough to not use it unless it's otherwise stated as public.

Eldanor, why would a Spaniard want a Canadian paint job?

I don't think I'm ready for it to be public domain just yet, especially considering the skin is specific to me (my name... well, my fictional name, and number on it.)

Hi, my first post here. iMpulse (sdbDrifter) offered to make a render of my car for me. So if you're seeing this, here's an FXR skin. (Link removed) I have others if you're so inclined.
