Quote from cargame.nl :Ye.. Same old story.. Gets tired also to listen to this. You are part of the problem anyway, 5 - 7 years away and then like "oh hello, how its going? Oh it's not the same as before what happened ???" .. Dude...

I am sorry. Apparently it's partly because of me that the game is effectively dead, hasn't seen a major upgrade in like 8 years and each minor update (released twice per year perhaps) is just 1/10th of a typical Assetto Corsa or Automobilista update.

Really sorry. Next time I'll make sure I come back here more often, who knows, we may actually see servers full of people like back in 2007.

Thanks for the replies. I was just wondering if there were any other servers that weren't visible to me because of my license. It's true that I'd enabled the no-empty-servers filter so I was missing those. And yes, there seem to be more empty servers than players.

Obviously an empty server on a weekend is good for nothing, so I now verified the game sadly looks nothing like it did when I was last playing several years ago (when there were plenty of public servers eg. running FOX practice and random races). At least I saved my 9 GBP as I don't need to upgrade to S3 now. Hopefully someday this game will bounce back, because to me it seems like it's nearly dead at the moment. Frown
Came back after years, very few server available

I haven't played the game in at least 5-7 years. I've got an S2 license. Thought I'd revisit. I can see they have released S3. I tried to play online and there's only a bunch of servers (like 15-20 at most), almost all of which are just random cruise servers, there are no races at all. I suspect everyone has migrated to S3 servers and these are not visible to me. Is this true? Just how many non-cruise and non-empty servers are there every night?

If this is the case then I will have to pay 9 GBP to upgrade from S2 to S3.

Yeah, I tried that too yesterday, it didn't change the cfg.txt file but to no avail, CSR was still not working. It seems that when the race starts Pitboard changes the Outgauge port anyway.

Quote from flinty72 :
BTW tade, I have got CSR and PitBoard to work together.
Start LFS and CSR first, then start pitboard with a different OutGauge port than CSR.

My LFS cfg.txt settings are:
OutGauge Mode 1
OutGauge Delay 100 (CSR still seems to work with this value)
OutGauge IP 127.0.0.1
OutGauge Port xxxxx (set it to your CSR Port)
OutGauge ID 0

PitBoard cfg.xml settings are:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<config>
<InSim port="29999">
<OutGauge port = "50000"> (or any value different to your CSR port)
<Password value = "">
<BoardTimeOut value = "15">
<LFSExec location="../" start="0" InvokeInSim="1">
</config>

Hopefully that will work for you.

OK thanks for the advice, unfortunately I couldnt make it work.

Now the problem is that I start CSR then I start LFS and 5" after that I start Pitboard. When the race starts and Pitboard starts working, it changes the outgauge port of cfg.txt to 50000. So CSR cant work anymore. I'll see if I find some other way to make it work.

CSR works perfectly fine under patch X, I can tell you that. I can hear it

Thanks for the quick reply, I hope you'll eventually fix it all!

From my point of view, I think that with the new 8-votes-needed system the number of sheep has decreased somewhat. And that's because people who are aware of the new system think more before they vote. I'm not sure if this is the case everywhere but that's the impression I've got.

I've been to a few servers lately and it was really hard to kick the real rammers, most people just didn't vote on the grounds that they hadn't seen anything. Maybe it's just my idea, maybe it was coincidence, who knows. Maybe we have less sheep w/patch X

No, I'm not saying it's the servers' fault. It's just some people who go and drive there (especially when no admins are around). I don't have a replay, I never save my MP replays and I don't want any kind of measures taken anyway. I just wanted to say what happened.

I hope everything that needs improving in CD will improve, good luck people!

OK so I've done my daily laps at AS2 w/FOX and then I thought I'd join CD3 for a few more laps. And I have this guy [K]Hash_Gordon or something like that who rams me once at T1, he clearly didnt break...much. Obviously I got off the track and he overtook me.

At the next lap (@T1) he rams the guy in front of me (can't remember his name), I see it clearly, they're like 10m in front of me. Unlike my accident though, they both spin. He clearly fell on the guy, he used him as a break for god's sake! I overtake both and Gordon_whoever is like 3" behind me. He eventually catches up and does the same thing! Hits me again from behind. All within 4-5 laps.

I decided I've had enough, complain, explain and vote to kick him. The other guy (who got rammed too) joins the voting and we both explain that this Gordon_whoever is a not-so-very-clean-driver (to say the least!)

You can imagine the result... Some of his teammates start laughing at us, I get blamed for being a whiner/childish/stupid/whatever, I get insulted, being told to go to my momma and 2-3 guys (who maybe knew gordon_whoever, Doghouse was one) take his part and blame us for the crash, say that's racing, stop whining etc.

I've run about 7000 laps, joined around 700 hosts (the numbers are not so great, I know, but I'm not a new player) and never before have I seen behaviour like this. This is truly sick.

I've had enough with these servers...:grumpy:

OK the program seems to be just great and it has an even greater potential. But I have this problem...

I'm using CSR sound mixer, which needs outgage 35555 to work and Pitboard works on 12501 (it also changes outgauge's mode to 1 and delay to 100, when CSR needs the above numbers to be 2 and 1 respectively). So could there be a way to run both applications at once? Unfortunately CSR mixer does not seem to be configurable in any way, so I was just wondering if something can be done w/Pitboard...

Around 2.4 Gb.

As for my FS2004 folder (mentioned some pages ago) last time I checked it was around 70GB big and that was without the downloaded setup files.

I am pretty sure its an issue w/the Catalyst drivers. I think most people that run LFS on nvidia cards have not noticed any major differences between vista and XP. While (from what I've read) most people on ATI cards constantly experience performance drops.

I have the same problem.

Sad.

Guys, I am deeply sorry, I apologise for blaming the wrong team. Land of the Free Team has nothing to do w/Eagle Racing so I was writing at the wrong thread. I am sorry if I caused any trouble or disturbance. I wrote to them anyway, through their official site, but I never got a reply.

I am sorry once again. Keep on racing

I am hereby writing to complain about the behavior of some of your team's members.

A few months ago I logged on to Eagle Racing Team's server for the very first time and on my first race there (I think it was SO2) we had a typical chaotic Turn One. Some guy from your team clearly blocked me, hit me, sent me to the barriers and subsequently claimed it was my fault. He immediately kicked me off the server and banned me, so I couldn't logon for days. Apparently he had admin rights. Even if I wanted to apologise for that racing accident (although by no means it was my fault) I had no time...

I tried E.R.T's server a few minutes ago. The result was more or less the same. We were racing at AS1 and at the big straight on lap 5 I was wheel to wheel with some buy belonging to E.R. We barely touched, nothing really happened but at turn one (500m after we had touched) he just hit me hard, threw me off the track and before I could protest he just said "f*ck you!". I told him it was his fault and the response was "You hit me before!" Moreover he wanted to ban me and 5 more members of your E.R team immediately voted against me, without even knowing what was going on or what had happened. They were one vote short so they didn't kick me out.

At the next race (AS2) just before the last chicane some guy of E.R made a mistake, turned way too slow and it was too late when I saw him, I had no time or room to break or avoid him. Since I was doing at least 50km/h more I hit him full on the back, he almost flew out of the track and 5" later, before I could apologise (although there was nothing I could do) he just kicked me off the server, he didn't even say anything.

So I am wondering at the disgraceful behaviour of some of Eagle Racing Team members, I've done almost 5000 laps on LFS and I've logged on to hundreds of servers. Never before have I been banned and never before have I encountered such fascist attitude. I just wonder...

Thanks for the extra quick help! So its a driver issue and there's nothing LFS can do about it. I guess I'll have to live with that, hoping Logitech will fix it sooner or later.

OK, thanks for the advice guys, after extensive testing I am pretty sure its an LFS thing (or a combination of LFS w/Logitech's software).

I am running LFS patch U30 and my config is the following:

Windows Controller Properties

Overall Effects Strength 100
Spring Effects Strength 0
Damper Effect Strength 0
Enable Centering Spring Yes
Centering Spring Strength 0
Report Combined Pedals No
Degrees of Rotation 270-720 (depends)

I am using the Logitech profiler w/the same settings.

As for LFS ingame settings...

Wheel turn (same as windows)
Wheel Turn Compensation 0.01
Force Strength 100
Throttle Brake Axes Separate
Gear Shift Mode Depends

So the issue persists and it happens only in LFS, I eventually fixed my rFactor and GTR2 problems. I have tried everything and the G25 still loses its lock when I speed up, w/an ingame FFB of 100 it locks only up to 10km/h. By decreasing the ingame FFB the "max speed that lock still works" increases, w/a value of FFB 20 the speed increases up to 40-50 km/h.

And if I turn off FFB completely then the wheel locks perfectly well at any given speed. So I am convinced its an LFS issue, I hope I'll find some solution sooner or later (or maybe it'll fix w/a patch...)

Its just strange that I havent seen this problem reported anywhere else. So I am only 90% sure its an LFS bug, I can't be certain.

I bought a G25 last week and I'm still thoroughly testing it. But I have a lock-problem and I want to ask your advice.

I lock the wheel at -lets say- 300 degrees. Both at windows controller properties and at wingman profiler. I try it, I move it left and right and it's working OK, it does lock where it's supposed to be. Then I launch LFS, go to Options->Control and lock the wheel at 300 degrees there too. It works.

I try to race and I'm in the pits, standing still. The wheel is still working perfectly fine, locking at 300 degrees. But when I hit the gas and reach eg. 30+km/h the lock doesnt work anymore!! The wheel can rotate freely up to 900 degrees. Although it has no effect to the game, since at 300deg the virtual wheel locks. So I have to brake the car, reach no more than 5-10 km/h and only then the G25 locks itself back to 300 deg.

The same thing happens with GTR2, race-WTCC, rFactor etc so I dont think its a game issue or settings. Any advice please? I hope it's not a faulty wheel...

here's my small contribution for this great game, an Ayrton Senna helmet, it's not really "historically" correct (every year there were minor changes on the helmet) but I like it.
