I rang up and told the women the guy yesterday said i couldnt get it repaired so i opened it up to take a look but removed the warranty sticker... and she said "well just send it to be repaired and see what they decide... you didnt tamper with it right you just removed the warranty sticker to look inside" ... "er... yeah ofcourse... ehem"
so basically im going to send it off and see what they do... its so friggin obvious ive been tampering though all the screws have been scratched i put new thermal paste on lol.... (im leaving it running over night to try and get it to set) so basically i think they will just send it back... but hey its worth a try...
Any other household items they didn't have any cleaner at my local PC world and i cant be arsed waiting for stuff to come through post...
Im trying to sort out my xbox issue.... will it matter if there is still a small amount of old thermal left on if i apply some new?... does it need to look like a mirror?
I just rang MS they wont cover it cos its not 3 red flashing lights its only one.... and tey want 78 pounds to repair it.. hahahahahaha you can get a brand new one for 100 on ebay... idiots...
I cant belive they will cover one error but not another...
..until my Xbox ****ed up.
I was playing Fifa 09 online when suddenly the screen went very distorted and greeny, i thought it was the AV connecter so give it a push and a wiggle... nothing so i think to myself... "restart it, it'll be reet!"
It begins to restart i wait in anticipation for everything to be running smoothly again.... our survey says... eheeeeeeeeeeeerr!
I get a message in numerous languages all saying "System error contact MS customer support" and at the bottom a big E74 which i gathered was the error code.
And the 4th Red light flashing.
And to add salt to the wounds just yesterday i renewed my Gold membership to Xbox Live :o
Anyway i googled about error codes etc...
and this is what i found http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=484726 E74: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (see error 0102)
It tells me to see error (0102)
But if you read the site it tells you how to get your code (by pressing the wireless sync button and eject, but mine came back with 1012... maybe my mistake
anyway im going to borrow my mates AV cable and try that if that doesnt work.... how long does an Xbox Warranty last?
I Bought my Xbox around 2 years go but after a few months of having the 1st one.. had it replaced as the 1st 1 kept over heating, so really i've had this Xbox for 18 months or so... but actually bought the 1st around 2 or so years ago...
Anyone know if ill get a brand spanker or will i have to fork out repare costs... or buy another...
cheers.
P.S is it just me who's rather concerned about how many error codes the xbox has??? lol
I just recently upgraded my PC and installed Vista along with it.
For some reason now after i install GTR and it reboots when i try to launch the game i get a driver compatability issue?
Says something about a patch but cant see much on the Starforce website.
You don't have a case... you never did, you just made a immature, snobby comment that made you look a complete prat. I get this strange feeling you.... for some reason think your better than everyone else???
