Oh dear...I have that wheel too, that started happening for me a while ago, only it was really bad, did it at all speeds, was totalyl undriveable. I took the wheel apart, and some of the gear cog's inside it were slipping against each other, so I simply jiggled them about a bit, and applied some good old WD-40.

That was about 2 months ago, and (touch wood) it's still going strong.

My God people are never happy!

I mean really, is it such a big problem? The Dev team have spent God knows how long creating a super patch, updating game physics, and even adding a whole new car!! Yet some people are still not happy!

(Not a dig at you, by the way, just a general observation I've made)

Wasn't there someone said on here recently that they went to the cinema in Germany, and saw an advert for Intel, with Live For Speed logos plastered on a bridge?

Now, I'm not Sherlock Holmes, but I've put two and two together. BMW Sauber = Intel = LFS?

Maybe? If that's true it'll be great!

I have to agree with XCNuse here, I don't think including real production cars in LFS would work. You would just have people complaining that "The M3 in LFS doesn't handle like my M3". It just means more work for the Devs, trying to make a car in the sim handle like its real-life counterpart. Whereas the way the game is at the minute, they are creating cars from scratch, and are not trying to make e.g. an XRT handle like a Starion turbo (just an example), and therefore it just handles like an XRT! I know that probably made no sense but its how I see it!

Quote from FPVaaron :only a 3.3L straight 6

Ha!! You have no idea how lucky you are mate! Over here, there's no way that anyone under the age of 20 will get insured on a 3.3L straight 6 engine! And it'll be unbelievably expensive until you're around 25, with a no-claims bonus of 5 years or so built up!

I have a VW Polo, 1.2L, 55PS, and its costing almost £2000 to insure, at 17!

I can't see why yer man that posted the first post on this topic went from "Nascar sucks" to "Americans are all rednecks"...I can't see who said that. But anyway, an opinion is an opinion. If someone doesnt agree with your opinion, then so be it, let sleeping dogs lie and all that. I really believe people take life far too seriously at times, if someone stereotypes you because of where you're from, laugh it off! People hear I'm from Ireland and immediately think I have ginger hair, wear a green hat 24hours a day, and am drunk 35hours a day. But it's simply not true! So lighten up!!

And Looney, you're damn right about the Isle Of Man TT and the Northwest 200, unbelievably good entertainment. I go to the Northwest almost every year, and my god is it fun!
"Host Refused Connection"

When I go to enter a particular server, I get a message saying "Host Refused Connection". Now, I have no idea what this means or how it happened.

My only guess is that I have been banned from the server, but I was never banned, or did anything to warrant being banned! Anyone know what the problem is?

Tried to install it the other day to re-play it, installed CD1 and CD2, then couldn't find CD3. Boooo.

lol, ok you're right, I probably was far too hard on it yes, and it probably was my own fault it broke, but I'd expect a product from a respected name such as Thrustmaster to last longer!

Anyway, good luck with the wheel! Can you let me know how it goes? Just out of curiosity!

Just don't go too hard on it and it should be fine!

It looks a lot sturdier than the wheels I've had before though. I had one wheel, think it was a Thrustmaster Ferrari 360 Modena Wheel, or something like that, which broke after about three months, and TM wouldn't replace it, said it was my own fault it broke! That's what really put me off their stuff.

Baffles me why someone would want to race with a passenger...

The only reason I can think of is for authenticity in the Rally(esque) tracks, to have them act as a co-driver, but even then, they dont um, co-drive.

Its just added weight, which is not what is wanted. This is a sim after all!

I'd just be wary of it, and not give it too much abuse. I've had a few Thrustmaster wheels, and they have all packed in after about 6 months of use, and customer service aren't exactly rays of sunshine to deal with. But that's just my experience, you never know what could happen!

Do you guys drift at all?

I used to really only drift, but since I got my wheel working I've started racing too. Quite interested in joining!

I'm running about the house like a mad eejit trying to find my copy of it, can't bloody find it! I always played this game when I was younger, using the keyboard. Would love to play it now with a wheel! Yes, I remember the rain on the tracks was great!

Anyone on here play this?

What's the verdict on it, and yes, I know its old. I mean in terms of realism etc.

/discuss.

In Northern Ireland, you take lessons on the road until you feel you are ready to take your test, you do a "theory test" which is basically a written test about the highway code etc, then you do your actual driving test. The test itself lasts roughly half an hour, and is done in real traffic, on real roads. It includes things such as parallel parking, emergency stopping, reversing around corners, three-point turns and just generally driving properly.
