The set i run there has wings @ 3/6 and gets decent grip.

There is a very obvious downside to pitting later in the race that everyone is overlooking...

I always try to pit early in mandatory pit races because the car is less likely to be damaged, and the pit stop is MUCH faster.

A few seconds for a splash of fuel > 20 second stop for damage.

Do you jerk your wheel around really quickly?

I have a momo black and it has worked perfectly for me since I got it (pedals too) but I turn the wheel as if I were driving an actual car and never try to jam my pedals through the floor.

I have heard all the complaints and I am convinced you guys all have problems with your equipment because you BEAT IT UP!

The race results list (right side of the screen after a race has ended) has disappeared from my game!

I am sure it is just a shift-key combo I hit by accident but I can't manage find the right key.

The HUD is still displayed so its not Shift-F.

Only the race results are not displayed... HELP!

Seriously tho, If you are a member of a team you will have the benefit of your teamates knowledge and efforts to create better setups, learn tighter and faster lines... and the fun of competing in organized races.

Have you ever teamed up with someone on the Oval track? It will take 2 seconds off of your laptimes.

All games go to the next level when you aren't just playing solo.

I don't what ban options are available in LFS but in other games it is possible to ban entire blocks of IP's.

Perhaps someone else was banned and you got hit with the shrapnel!

I was the one who was shouted at for "NOT Drifting"

That is what prompted me to come here and find out wtf drifting is all about.

Also note I was not attempting to start a race or interfering with anyone in the server.... simply driving "normally" around the track.

So, to use your analogy... I would be the "syncronised swimmer" being shouted at.

I don't care if you guys want to drift, race backwards or use LFS as a drive in movie simulator.

That sounds like buying Battlefield 2 and designating your server to practice dance moves. "Hey! NO shooting allowed!"

I guess this is going to be the dumbest noob question of all time, but here goes...

WTF IS DRIFTING!?

I see all these lame servers with "Drift" in the name and have learned that no one in these servers race.
OK, it's boring to just turn practice laps on a multi player server but to each his own.

So the other day I joined one of these "Drift" servers just to run a few laps on Blackwood and went about my business, racing a few laps... tweaking my setup... etc.
Then someone messages me that "This is a DRIFT server" illepall

What exactly is a Drift server and what exactly are drivers expected to do there?

I've raced with Becky a few times and have never seen anyone hassle her, I guess she just ran into a random idiot... just like we all do from time to time. (wreckers, etc.)

My question is... If it is such an annoyance for you WHY don't you change your name to "Fatguy" or something like that?

I'd have to say I think I will eventually reach a comfort zone with the wheel where I can turn laps as quickly as I was before, and even if I couldn't the game is 10 times more enjoyable with a wheel & pedals...

I shaved a second today after practicing for about a half an hour... it'll just take time (i hope)

The really long courses are going to be a real challenge to learn, but for now I'm having a blast with South City track in the MRT. <--- great car for beginners IMO.
