The other night I upgraded my CPU from and AMD Athlon 3000+ to a X2 4400 and when I started up LFS I was back to Demo racer. I'm guessing it looks at processor ID (maybe other stuff aswell).

Is that normal?

i kinda had a ye olde vision in my head as i was typing that post....of race drivers put in stocks and village people throwing rocks at them...

but yes.. a ban for a day would be good, but it has to be implemented still... somehow...

I did notice that when I signed up, and now it's really just a matter of admin's putting the request's for suspension through.

Or even still, why not have a forum thread or category for Abuse were persistent abusers are nominated, i'm sure this V-Bulletin has a vote thread. Get 10 vote's and get a suspension for a certain period of time. Get over 50 votes and maybe a more severe suspension.

I think the majority of proper racers and admin's would agree to this...

don't know about it being completly boring, but it's definently lost it's lustre. The rules and regulations, they would have lost nearly a third of the fan base alone for removing the tire changes.... what were those guys doing again, rubbing the tires, what a joke.

At first I thought they were changing the rules in F1 to stop Shuey winning, and before that because they thought they were too fast when Ayrton Senna crashed and died....

Indie/champ cars karts whatever you wanna call them... they still have top speeds of over 350km/h and run full slicks weather permitting... yes F1 are still faster carts but the politics involved, it's taking the racing out of the races. and if I have to watch another GP to see webber bomb out again because of mechanical failure, alonso win by nearly 2 laps, and see the television concentrating on the back markers who are the onlly one's giving it a go, it'll be the last race I watch....if I had to choose between either DTM's or V8's or F1, f1 would be at the bottom....

i'd buy that for a dollar.....

Both those systems mentioned are barely worth $300 (Aud) ... with the exception of the 1st option have a semi decent card.. not worth buying i reckon

Save your money, spend at least $700-$1000 on a better system, or check on ebay, you'll probably find something there.

i'm looking at upgrading aswell and i'm running an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ with 1gb ram, and 6600gt.... I only get roughly 40fps with full everything on and 1400 x 900 res...

I think CPU will be the first to go.... X2 or opteron?? Somebody said opteron's can only be used with server boards and ecc ram, well that's been dispelled... but which opteron is good for a A8n-SLI board....?
