Good to see another server around, hopefully its going to be put to good use Will certainly pop in and see how things are.
There are actually about 20 other dedicated Aussie servers. That said most of them are never populated. Probably about 25-50 Aussies race through out the week on average. ProRacingRoom is the best place to find people, theres ALWAYS someone on there. Usually a lot more Aussies online (100+) if there are league races (MNR,AAL,LFSEA, etc). List of Aussie servers I'm aware of and have used; League:
Very dissapointed with my effort, pb splits are down to a 1:01.43 but I just can't nail the sectors at the same time. Time to watch the F1 race... rofl what a crazy start
Just note that the replay was using Lep's set which has completely different driving characteristics But the lines and/or speeds should be useful.
As for all that other stuff? I've been racing LFS before it reached S1. Demo racer for a looooooooong time and I was pretty crap too. I used to get beaten by people driving kb . S2 Demo led to lots of "proper" racers on demo servers which lured me into the real thing. Having played properly since S2 alpha it is only in the last year have I really come to grips with LFS. And yet despite all these years of "experience" I am by no means a Biggie or a Bawbag. They just have the talent and different "experience" to get the most out of the cars. But I am constantly improving and doing things I didn't think I could. Self belief goes a long way.
I reckon a mid 1 is starting to look like it might be enough. Its certainly starting to get tricky to extract that little extra pace out of the car. I spent 4 hours last night and did ~10 x 1:02.0*'s, hitting cones on the final corner. I tend to suffer from the same "fast-split-phobia" problem. In the first autox week my pb splits where actually into the 8's, but I could only manage a 9:5. And even then I had trouble getting that!
Done. Because Im bored and dont have much else to do I took up your challenge... and rofl, your set is actually pretty decent! Took me about 10 minutes to come to terms with it as it has some funky brakes/steering/gears compared to what im using...[I only use second gear for the whole track]. I did a few mid 2's but hit one or two cones on the way through. Could easily go faster with more practice [only 10 minutes?!]. I actually might use some of its settings in my own set... cheers
Its funny you say that as I actually always share my setup for league races. To answer your question, No I'm not confident that I've extracted the max from this set. Heck I'm confident in the right hands it can do a 1:00. I'm not as talented as the fast guys, and I'll take any advantage I can over them. And when you start talking about real prizes the stakes go up even more! If my set really means that much to you I will post it.
Hopefully my replay can show you [and everyone else?] where you are losing time... Heck I know after watching the WR lap on any combo I usually take huge chunks out of my pb... I really don't think Im that talented especially when Im put alongside people like bawbag. I'm pretty confident anyone can get into the 2's though, it really isn't that hard. People often try to gain time in the wrong places, but if you just concentrate on a good line, traction on exit out of corners, etc, your bound to start setting good times. I'm still waiting for the aliens to hit the track and get into the 1:00's.

Im just curious if we are going to showed any extra statistics. For instance how many times each person attempted the track? I know this stat was recorded in the original autox trials... I'd love to see how many goes everyone is having
I can appreciate how a setup may improve your times but at the same time all autox sets are essentially the same. Low pressure, higher camber, funky ratios. The setup only helps you until a point, after that it comes down to either bringing your setup to your driving style or driving style to match the setup. And generally its the latter. Practice and patience.
I certainly am enjoying this layout better then the last... It feels very forgiving thanks to the wide cone spacing in places. This also allows for multiple lines through most corners. You can go wide but get a better exit and still get similar splits. The other layout was alot more technical and complex in comparision with alot of corners to master. This one has a few interesting slaloms, slow, fast sweeping, uneven cone spacing, etc. I guess I'm just a sucker for these "easy" layouts.
No-one going to vote for me? Hah I guess I wouldn't vote for me either...
I'm already down to the 1's on pb splits but I'm on the limit of my skill and/or set. Getting a 59 would really require something special IMO. Last week the times kept going down the whole week but I think that was because everyone was coming to terms with the car. I certainly hadn't driven the lx4 competitivly before last week so it took me a while to get a feel for it. But I think now that everyone is "dialed in" times should be more competitive straight off the bat. Probably end up eating my words by the end of the week though
