Cars that die on you
I would like to see the engine die like if you dont get the clutch right instead of the car just acting like its going to die and it would also be neat if the cars used oil and transmission fluid. I would also like to see the cars get hot and over heat and the engine blow.
just... wait until scawen takes his time to finally model the water temperature... which.. im surprised hasn't been done yet, but expect it before S3

(actually in a way its surprising its not done yet, but in another way... for the sake of finally getting down grip.. its not surprisings its done yet; because i remember he did say it would be in S2... then again.. the word .. would)
Quote from XCNuse :just... wait until scawen takes his time to finally model the water temperature...

Im like in the very first S2 out, "yay a temp guage" - then im like "no i dun work.."

I will personnally send Scawen £2.50 for a pint if he can get a working water temp model out by the end of september, so thats like 2 and a half months ... scawen mate, you wanna pint , you need to earn it
Me again
I thought the temp gauge worked. I would love to see the car overheat and steam and just die. I figured out how to blow the engine in the cars. you can get them in 5th gear and when your at 5000rpm press the clutch shift to 1st and let off the clutch it will either blow the engine or it wont pull out of its tracks.

^^ What you described does screw the engine in LFS atm, although they always seem driveable with a massive powerloss.

What really needs to be added is better realistic damage modeling, to stop this technique of shoving it down a gear with a bit of a lift knowing the engine will be fine. IRL in an accidental downshift (taken with a slight lift in a car without an electronic ignition cut) in a sequential 'box will result in the engine properly letting go, at least one sizeable whole in the block.

As for stalling it's not essential but would be quite a neat detail.
Certainlly engine braking in LFS atm is a bit extreme, when I raced saloons it was roughly 20% of the total braking force, in LFS it sometimes feels like it is the other way around.

Looking at the outguage data here is what we are imminently likely to get:

Engine Temperature (in degrees celcius)
Oil Pressure (in BAR's of pressure)

Currently these both send 0's, so aren't being used, but the memory and packet space for them is currently reserved in LFS - so they should be coming soon.

There's spare data slots in the outguage data too, so there's room for more stuff in the future.
