The online racing simulator
Aditional search filter for modlist (ingame)
So as you may know, when you open the modlist in game, you can narrow your modsearch with filters like Class and Show, or even by typing the modname out.

However, in my opinion this can be improved. There could/should be another filter for the propulsion type (or fuel type maybe). This way players can let only electric vehicles show, for instance. Or maybe only combustion engine vehicles. Or maybe even pedal vehicles (like bicycles). However, this last one doesn't really have to be added.

To make things easier, maybe make it just 2 categories:
- gasoline/gas/diesel/ICE
- electric/pedalpowered

I would appreciate it if this minor improvement could be incorporated into the game.

it would be also improved by people categorizing their mods accordingly, as for now you get all sorts of random stuff mixed up regardless of class

also where you get pedal powered even since all the bikes that have pedals are electric anyways Big grin
Filtering by engine power or engine power would be nice.
They could even simplify it by just defining difference between the transmission type. Since when a vehicle is electric, the transmission type is "electric".

So maybe just a filter with
Transmission:
- H Pattern
- Sequential
- Motorbike
- Flappypaddle
- Electric

This way they don't have to add a value to all the mods, they can just keep them as they are, and only have to add a filter option.
I would also deffinitelly support addition of more filters for better mod searching - transmission type, drivetrain layout, maybe even engine displacement, cylinder count, engine power (max and min),weight and available tyres.
I personally don't care if these extra filters are available ingame or in website.
I also made a suggestion to improve the organization of mods here, with a visual, a while ago.
The idea was to be able to quickly find what interests us in the mods.

It would also be nice to be able to create different favourite mod groups per vehicle type. For example, to classify in the same folder the vehicles from the 70s that you prefer.
I come back to this subject because it is important. As I write this post, the mods page shows 1361 mods.
If nothing is done, the mod system will no longer even be usable. I admit that I stopped being interested in it, even though there are some absolutely brilliant things. It just became impossible to consult. Shrug

The first urgent thing seems to me to be to divide the display of all mods into several pages. This single page is no longer even displayed on the laptop I use while travelling...

The second thing would be to sort the mods by typologies before creating categories by vehicle characteristics.

Big grin Having a first choice between cars and the others things seems obvious to me for a game like LFS !
Then a classification by use (Racing, Drift, off-road, street, stock etc.).

Then sorting by type of mods (Tweak, Wip, Derivatives etc.) a bit like in the attached image.
Then it will be easy to introduce classes by era or by vehicle characteristics. Smile
