fuel control like tyre stats database
hi, i was just wondering, if anybody knows of a database or such thing that has recorded tyre wear for each combo. similar to the fuel control site in my signature. just i think when planning a stratagy for long races it would be usefull. for e.g.

fxr, as cadet 10% tyre wear after xlaps
fxr, as cadet 20% tyre wear after xlaps
fxr, as cadet 30% tyre wear after xlaps
fxr, as cadet 40% tyre wear after xlaps
fxr, as cadet 50% tyre wear after xlaps
. . . . .

you get my idea.
But it depends so much how you drive and about the setup.

I agree.
This is highly dependent on how your setup is and how you drive it, I don't see how this could be possible on a large scale. Per driver it would be nice though =)
ok thanks i was just wondering if it had been done. as you said it depends on setup. so if they where averaged it would be too inaccurate.
Yup, but if you wanted to build a database for yourself =P

i might, because im fairly constant in my driving now. i think thats the word.
Close, consistent I think is the word your looking for.
Since patch T i've found that all tyres last longer than the fuel tank in all the cars i've driven for a long distance, I don't even use hard compound tyres anymore, most soft tyres will do two fuel tanks before wearing out. The trick is not to confuse wear (thickness of the tyre guage) with temperature (colour of the tyre guage).

I have noticed that too, not sure if thats good or bad yet =)
I think the major factor in tyre choice at the moment is the track temps. We have a constant temperature (as far as I'm aware). What we need is varying track temperatures to make the harder tyres of more use.

Yes different track temps will throw all these people running close to the WR for race times for a loop and changes done to setups like pressures and different compounds will make a huge difference, making the leagues alot more exciting besides watching one or two cars battle it out, sometimes not even that.
I'll make the first entry: UFR, AS6, 100% front right tyre wear after 27,5 laps (R2's)

What were your tyre pressures, camber settings, suspension settings, steering settings, diff settings, fuel load, brake bias, ARB settings etc?
What controller were you using?
How many times did you lock or spin a wheel?
Are you driving an optimum line?
How agressiveley were you driving?
Was your pace on par with usual racing lap times?

See, all of these factors (and probably others) effect tyre wear and temp. So an accurate comparison would be very difficult to arrive at between different drivers and their styles and sets. Of course each lap is a dynamic exercise in its own right. Even in the real world, tyre data is difficult to nail down and quantify, there are so many factors involved.
Just a comment page in the setup screen would be nice. So's we could write things like, "Need to tweak cambers." or "Tires will go 23 laps." or "17 percent fuel for 5 laps."

I use a calculator all the time when tweaking my setups. Since I've lost my physical one, a calculator in the setup screen would be nice.
