No FFB at all on T300RS
Hello,

I'm having a very weird issue regarding FFB on my T300RS. It was working perfectly fine since two years and today when launching the game, I only had auto-center with the error "Create Effect Failed (1 axes) Could not setup FF steer device" so I tried to troubleshoot this, but I've just made it worse as now there is no error and the wheel is just completely loose as if it was not powered on. All the buttons and axis work tho. Here is what I've tried so far:

- Change FFB settings in the game (resolution, sample rate, amount of force)
- Launching the game with and without my TH8A connected
- Restart my PC multiple times
- Re-install the game (3 times, just to be absolutely sure)
- Delete the con file
- Re-install the wheel driver
- Test the FFB in the driver menu, it works fine
- Test the FFB using the WheelCheck app from the iRacing Devs, it works fine
- Test other games, it works fine
- Change USB ports, 2.0, 3.0, on a hub, not on a hub
- Use "Shift+C" in game to reset the control
- Try an old version (0.6V3), got the same issue
- Try the 2016 Driver available on the forum, it's not compatible with the T300RS
- Try a 2021 Driver for the T300RS, it changes nothing

I'm really out of option there, and I doubt it's the game as it worked literally yesterday on the latest version. Is it possible that some corrupted files are still there even tho I uninstalled multiple times?

I plan to upgrade to a Moza R12 at the end of the year so it's not that far off now but LFS is my favorite sim so I'd like to not wait for the R12 :/

Thanks
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately no I don't use any other antivirus than the built in Windows Defender. I tried to turn it off completely just to be sure it isn't that but it didn't resolve my issue.

Also I forgot to say that when I refresh the controller list in game, my wheel goes back towards the center for like 0.5 second as if the game was trying to communicate to the wheel but couldn't.

I'll try on my laptop to be sure it's not the wheel (but if it is the wheel, it would be extremely weird that it's only on one game)
I think I fixed it, but I don't really know how and why. I tried it on my laptop and it did the same, then I desperately retried again on my desktop, and with the strength of the FFB set to 25 in game (which is what I use normally), after driving a lap or so I seemed to magically have a tiny bit of ffb on kerbs, so I then set the ffb to 100 and it finally worked so I tried again 25 and now it's working as well as before the issue. I don't know what wizardry this is but it works now I guess lol
Could it be that ffb was cut off due to overheating? Summer temperatures in EU these days can be hard for t300.

Could be GameInput which the latest (2024) T300 driver should fix. Without that driver, Windows 10/11 installed a runtime that proceeded to take priority of the FFB from other games (affected all wheel vendors and games). Most vendors released new drivers that addressed it or you can disable the GameInput Runtime service in Windows.
