Always Smacking the Toughest AI by 2+ seconds. Shouldn't They Be Stronger?
No matter whether it's ovals or road courses or even a simple drag race, I'm always smacking the toughest AI by 2 or more seconds. What makes these computer fools drive so slowly? Some Cars they're not even fast enough in to put heat into the tires! I at least wouldn't mind being able to fight side by side on ovals with super low downforce cars with the Ai, but the only way the AI will go fast on ovals is to max the downforce out on high downforce open wheel cars. Otherwise I'm still usually smacking them around on the road courses like as if they were NASCAR drivers and I was Shane Van Gisbergen in Chicago in 2023. It's always a massacre. Is there anyone faster than that? Let me know
try racing some people online Smile
Devs are aware of this and they recognize the power of single player. There were many improvements to AI recently, however further developement has delayed until new tire physics will be completed.

AI's were improved to the point where it makes no sense to do anything new with them, because updated tire physics will require to do that again = waste of devs time. Therefore, we'll have to wait a bit longer for some competitive AI, it's definately in the works, just not before higher priority updates that we're waiting for a couple of years. Devs are curently working very hard on those.

The AI has been greatly improved in LFS in the latest updates, but I think the behavior of the yellow flags is exaggerated, they brake suddenly and take away from the realism.
In my opinion bots should be stronger, but now it should not be a development priority, there are too many more important things to do before that, update with graphics and physics, track editor, dynamic weather, etc.
