Hello

I have a dumb problem, my friends says i should use the manual gearshift because I will have more control of the car.
But the problem is no matter what I do in the control pannel, the gear won't change even at max rpm, sometime
I need to let off the throttle to pass the gear, but sometime nothing happen.

It doens't work especially with the BMW formula.

I'm using a ps4 controller with ds4 windows BTW.

What can I do to use the gearshift properly ?

Some cars, such as the FBM, you need to let off the throttle to shift. Other cars you don't need to.

It is how the real car works.
It feels random at first but after a while you will do it automatically without thinking. You get a feel for how much and how long you need to lift.e

Yes, set auto gear shift and you will not have to lift throttle when shifting gears. You will not even have to shift.

one technique some people use is pushing in the shift paddle before lifting off the throttle

On the less extreme side, there's soly clutch assist method in the driver's options. Still need to shift manually, but can do it anytime. It feels wacky tho once you learn to shift normally the fbm.
