OWRL to change Div B format for S2 Season 5
There are either a lot of changes or virtually none at all. Depending on where you drive. Div A rules have barely changed from last season. The only novelty here will come in S2 Season 6: The BMW Sauber F1.06 will replace the Formula V8. On the other hand we had the FOX-division, Div B. As it's open to everyone who can race fair, the drivers will be sorted onto the servers by their fastest time. Instead of one race we will move to a sprint and main race. To add to that, a new points system will be used for div B.
Division A
Does 20 top class drivers in fast open wheel cars sound good to you? It sure does to us. With 15 pre-qualified drivers by virtue of there performance in earlier season, 5 drivers can sneak in - if they manage to beat their opponents in the two pre-season races. Div A wil use the same point system as last season. After S2 Season 5, using the FO8, the last 7 drivers in the championship will have to make way for the top 7 of Div B. In S2 Season 6 the BF1 will be used in Div A. For both season race length will be approx. 75 minutes.
Division B
For those who prefer the close racing of the Formula XR or anyone still in the learning stages, Division B is there for you. With virtually no limit on the amount of drivers who can participate and with the only prerequisite you can keep your car in control under normal circumstances, this division is open for everyone.
For S2 Season 5 and 6, Division B-drivers will be assigned onto the server by their pb / hotlap, whichever is fastest. Please note that you will have to set a time, available for the OWRL Admins, on LFS World before the signup deadline. During the event, a 15 minute qualifying decides the starting order for the sprint race. This one has a length of 15 minutes. The main event will endure aprrox. 40 minutes. Log on to www.owrl.de and vote whether the top drivers of the sprint race should start this race in reversed order! More info on the points at the season info page.

2006 championship
Both upcoming seasons also count towards the 2006 championship. At the end of 2006, we'll announce the best 2006 driver. This will be the participant who has the most points when we combine the standings of all our major seasons. To win this prize, the driver does not only need to be fast. Consistency and motivation for all of 2006 will be just as important, as every race of all major seasons will count. As the winner in div B can get 100 points, 30% of the div B points will count towards this championship.
The Open Wheel Racing League is dedicated to bring the best open wheel racing in Live For Speed. The league, organised by drivers of the pod team, has run for over two years. The OWRL not only caters for the fastest drivers, but also for any LFS S2 licensed racer who can race fair.
