The biggest dissapointment in the Hardcore PHysics happens when you go to that racetrack, near the airport.. It makes absolutely no sense at all, its quite messed up and not even as good as the 'standard' ISI cars imo!
Yeah that may have been an exaggeration.... But still not much if any IMO.

Still not bad for an arcade racer, and it's possible to catch a slide in TDU, unlike in GTR / RF.

The incesseant and evil head turn in cockpit view makes it hard to get a good feel in TDU, but I refuse to race in any other view.

Don't forget the cars are not race set up cars though, they understeer like mad like a street car would. It's not like you can change the "stock" setup to handle like a vehicle in LFS or RF, so bear that in mind too.
u can "disable" that look to apex thing.
download and install the TrackIR software, start it, start TDU and check TrackIR. voila, no more head movement.

im at 93% (missing the multiplayer races), got all cars and almost all houses.
still cruise every day for a few hours, just too much fun (HC mode, manual transmission and clutch, no driving aids = <3)
All i need to do tommarow is buy a house, and buy 3 Ford Mustangs(for the 10 points), then sell them. After that i use that money and some other cash to buy 3 Aston Martins(one fast one to keep, others to sell). Then i'll have 450 points, and champion.
Is there a way to make a clutch macro for faster shifting? I don't have a third pedal and it just wouldn't feel right to assign a button for clutch.
Hehe, I have button at back at the wheel, which I use for clutch
I just couldn't think about driving a bit slower, so I use button for clutch and it doesen't bother me atleast
Just to drag this up again, but has anybody been following the flame war that is currently going on in the official Atari forums regarding the 'elusive' patch?

If ANYBODY is in the slightest way disillusioned about the way that LFS is developed or updated (ie: the "Where is S3?" mob!) then they should take a look at the way that Atari treat THEIR customers.

People are getting BANNED from the forum...threads are being deleted, and the mods are obviously acting under orders from 'above'. It is almost a dictatorship, a roll back to an Orwellian version of 1984. Big 'Atari' Brother doesn't want ANYBODY asking about the patch...maybe because they haven't got a clue how to fix the multitude of problems!

Long Live LFS and ScaViEr for the RIGHT way to treat paying customers!
Hey LFS Racers. I recently bought this game a few hours ago at my local GAME store. Installing wasn't a problem whatsoever under any circumstance. But after the installation, I would get a message saying that the CD/DVD has timed out after trying to load the game up, with this message. *see attachment*

I have done what the mesage has instructed, but I am still getting the same problem.

What I don't understand, is that if I was able to load up the CD and install the game, how come it doesnt read it again when I want to play TDU?

Can anyone assist please?
Have you got Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools installed by any chance? Either of them can upset the Securom disk authentication process.
if nothing helps try to locate a tool named yasu ... legaly buing the game isnt exactly what its intended for but with current copy protections its really the only way to actually play without obstructions

Yeah, I just uninstalled the Alcohol program, and reinstalling the TDU game again as we speak.

I haven't been following; most people over there seem to have an level of intelligence equivelant to that of a common household Toaster.

I take it the patch is not out yet then? The hell happened to mid June? The hell happened to May for that matter?

Thats EXACTLY what people are complaining about, and also the complete lack of info from Atari.
People are now getting banned for stating that May/Mid-June has passed and there is no patch, and absolutely jack-sh1t info from Atari since May 25th.
I just had a peek at the forums to see if there was any new info at all... nope.

I think it'd funny how many people think the patch is not coming because of the huge losses Atari has taken this quatre. While it may be true that Atari is going to release a shoddy TRU2 to try an make some more money, I'd think it would be more beneficial for them to fix this one and make the customers happy so that they'd buy the new one...

Its still not working , any other possibilities?
Lol, I knew this to happen, they did have no any intend to make a patch for that buggy beta they did release, I did warn people but no, very few listened. *mad laughing*

I won't buy anything from Atari anymore, that is because they don't respect their customers, I have recommend that to everyone else too, show that company that you don't like how they run things and leave their games to shelves, no matter how good they might be. Only that way they do learn.
any news on a patch for this game yet?
If there's nothing on the official forums for it yet, then there's no news. There is the resounding fact that the developer does, in fact, hock on balls though.
Latest (unofficial!) News:

The patch for TDU will be released approximately 20 seconds after the official full release of Duke Nukem Forever, on the newly formed Atari sub-label of 'VapourWare Inc"
'Bout time. Official or not. :P

[EDIT] Both the Skyline R34 and the RS4 are fun to drive. Both hold the road well and have a little git-up-n-go, although they both lack in the high end. I was suprised by having to use the stick in the RS4; I'd have thought it'd be a paddle-shifter like the others. Of course, I don't pay much attention to Audis. Finally something new for this game.
Quote from Smurfen :Patch beta leaked.

DL Here

http://files.filefront.com/tdu ... ;8010719;;/fileinfo.htmli

altho its not recommended to download, it may cause problems... well. i DLed it, and works, online 2. fixed some stuttering not very much tho. the RS4 and the Skyline is there to

got it yesterday already, from a friend.
but it made some things worse for me.....when ppl are around it stutters like mad.
8 ppl around = 3 fps
1 other player around = 25% fps loss

havent tried to play it after a reboot, but i will.
if it isnt better then ill reinstall the game, since its the same as before except the new cars and the stutter with players around.
I wonder if Atari will soon say that this filefront is the "official" patch just so they don't have to start actually working.
I bet their working on the two lines of text to paste onto the forum right now, confirming that, Rappa.
Out of interest, which version of the patch did you guys grab...At the moment there are THREE different 'unofficial/ patches floating around... 1.64A, 1.66A, and the original patch for the BETA version of the game.
