I'd love that track . It has to be in the next full release, it just has to be.

I hope that at least the part where the KY3 joins from oval to the normal track could get fixed. Now it is unrealistic chicane which is dangerous as well. Sometimes driving over the curb just throws the car in air...
Quote from thisnameistaken :It's been suggested before, but honestly it's rare to see KY3 online, or any of the long circuits. I'd rather see shorter configs that actually get used.

KY3 is my hands down favorite track. I'm just waiting for the post that says "You are flat out ... out of your mind ... that's good."

Indeed.

I agree.

I think Kyoto is next in line to get the makeover, I hope that means some new configs.
Kyoto might get a new config, hopefully it is a short one with totally new section or the long config. Hopefully some fixes to the present kyoto configs as well, though it may require that at least kyoto wrs migh be needed to reset... I hope it is not just texture update because imho, kyoto doesn't look too bad atm...

But that config deggis posted might be too optimistic

Hmmm... and when you try to host a server with KY3 (tryed LX4) you got no guests... bloody awful

Nothing wrong with the track - I like it. What comes to new KY configs, I can give my vote for them.
I love KY3, but there are rarely anyone playing it - and when there are, it's usually simple hotlapping... And in case somebody would try to race, it would be a borefest with everyone driving at a 10 seconds difference of anybody else.

This is pretty popular at the moment with the GTR cars, there is the Masters of Endurance race this weekend so there is alot of people practicing. Just have to be up for rather long races and not the usual sprint ones but it is alot of fun none the less!

Do you really need KY3 for this? I think any track will do. Of course at shorter tracks you become overlapped. If I really have to choose it is better not to see him rather than being overlapped 3 times. Of course it is best if the group has roughly same lap times.

Also I don't understand why somebody says long tracks are too long. Even in sprint races they are nice. To me it is same if I drive 3 laps at KY3 or 6 at AS2.

+1 for the long track
I want the long track because it would be the only Kyoto that would be the most interesting and challenging. KY GP is mostly full speed stuff, and as much as I like the design, it is just not the best Kyoto config. National is my favorite at Kyoto, and if GP and National were combined, that would really top it all off.

Also, that post about the smaller "club" style course is really good. Adding the pit to that section just after the bridge is very possible, and I think such a config should be made. The only thing I would disagree on with that config is that it needs at least a few more slow corners. Otherwise it would really only be a config for faster cars. Still fun I guess, but... I think a lot of us don't care, we just want newer tracks because we are bored with what we have already And leagues don't have much variation in their track choices because of our lack of unique/different tracks.
I love KY GP Long but it's only really suited to the GTRs and big single seaters IMO.

If we had some fast(er) non-downforce cars, a lot of the tracks in LFS would come to life.

The second new corner (before the bridge) that would need to be made could be a slow and sharp 90 corner. I think it's still the best section of Kyoto. Even better in reversed.

The chicanes in Kyoto GP has been built to be very slow... but they aren't because you can just ram over the curbs in 200 km/h and even if you if you screw up you can always recover from the huuuge slide. I just hate that, especially the "concrete" chicane curbs in Fern Bay. And especially when you suddenly get your car flipped over.
Quote from deggis :And especially when you suddenly get your car flipped over.

This is actually something that people, including me, have got used to. I was just few hours ago showing LFS to one of my friends and we were driving the BL2R with GTis and the cars bouncing and skyrocketing from smallest touches sometimes didn' make it easy to tell him that LFS indeed is a realistic racing simulator

Don't worry, 'll convert him anyways

The track would be an awesome endurance track. But LFS needs a prototype class and a larger field 30+ to allow for multi class endurance racing.
Quote from thisnameistaken :It's fun in the LRFs too. Those sweepers get pretty sketchy with no downforce.

Slick-shod LX car anyone???
Quote from sil3ntwar :The track would be an awesome endurance track. But LFS needs a prototype class and a larger field 30+ to allow for multi class endurance racing.

Even without new prototype car that would be fun with big GTR + little GTR mixed class. But it really needs 40+ field of cars, rFactor and all the other ISI sims can do it and so can N2003, LFS needs to be able to do it too. Plus a new kind of final result listing for after the race. Even public races with mixed classes would be fun if the final results were sorted automatically by the class.
Notice that LFS's simulation of realistic car behavior is computationally intensive since it calculates and executes the behavior of a car in RT (real time). So whenever another car is shown in close proximity, computational demands increase accordingly. And I doubt any single PC could confortably handle mathematically simulating 40 cars at the same time and in close proximity to each other with LFS levels of realism. Some games do it via various means, and some so-called sims don't do much real-time computations, since the calculations are either hghly simplified via the use of lookup tables. Either way, the game lags.

Currently, my PC barely manages to handle 3 cars on screen at once (my own car included). Any more means MAJOR lag.
Simple: then the netcode and/or physics calculation needs to be revised. And this will most likely be introduced in S3, not very soon so I wouldn't be worried about this.

By lag do you mean low fps or real lag?
