i have just spotted that his is taking around %50 of my cpu and i cant shut it down lfs is being very slow because of this but the only thing is the csrss.exe is always there but really high only when playing lfs so whats wrong?
maybe you got a worm some worms (like W32.NIMDA.E@mm or W32/Nimda.g@MM) copies themself as crss.exe into windows (to say it shortly) And they usually occupy 50% of cpu time
CSRSS can also handle a lot of the graphics subsystem - check out the health of your graphics card, and consider poking at DirectX. CSRSS is also a popular process to "hack", so you might wanna use a few online virus scanners
second thing to do is to find out where its running from, trojans/worms/viruses often take the name of a real component, but run from a different location. (windows defender is a good utility for this, although its not very good at anything else)
i totally agree with what you say abotu google doing a search and that what i done and got numerous results liek its what the graphics may be used in the 16 or 32 bit modes cant remember exactly, then i thought this wasnt doing it earlier then saw that it may be a worm or virus or soem kind of spyware. so then i checked to see if it was doung it while i was playign lfs and it was doing it more then so im thinkign ok graphics problem and lfs so here i am asking in the lfs forum where thereis people that may kniow what there doing. just scanned with windows defender and came back with nothign worng wiht the pc. mcafee is still going so ill be back
You'd be better off getting a cheap graphics card from any old store (online or offline) tbh. There are some good deals on, plus you can return them with no qualms.
great board, know a few people who have it. Just for the record though, PCI-e 1x isnt for Graphics cards
tbh you should pick up a Geforce 6600GT, can find them for about 50 quid if you look hard enough, and they can easily run LFS with everything on (AA+AF)
pci-e1 is something that i dont even have a clue what it does lol now pci-e x16 hmmm i have bene looking into that recently. i posted on another forum about a graphics card and i am buying a radeon X550 for £15 256mb will do i think untill i decide to put my hands a bit deeper into my pockets.
