Excellent, i've still not pre-ordered due to the changing dates of all the suppliers, and it's good to hear they're getting a nice allocation.

Thanks for the update
Well its nice to know they'll have enough for everyone..but I can't help it, I still want it now!

Thanks for posting mate.

Tell me about it Everywhere else I've asked have been ordering on demand - aside from digitalkingdom, who I'm yet to inquire with.
No problem on the info....Also trying to get one of them from gameseek to play Live For Speed because he has not even heard of it lmao....I am in contact with this guys every day as we sort of talk now on a regular basis now. Will keep posted on what i find out...Cant wait for the knock on the door to find the post man there with my logotech box DFP is almost dead and pedal are now real sick lol
If possible with your desk you could mount the pedals upside down against the back of the desk, this would not only be more realistic, but should also fix the spacing issue? Its almost like Logi designed them for people to be able to do this. Might need to swap the clutch and pedals units or springs around though so you don't end up with a heavy throttle.

Thanks for the review btw. Sucks to hear most everyone thinks the shifter is too light, when mine turns up I look forward to having it apart and seeing what can be done to better optimize it for use in H gate mode (Logi's reasoning for it not having more resistance is because then it'd suck in sequential mode, but i don't ever really plan to use that).
Let me know what progress you make if you have it apart, still not got mine so I can only plan stuff going on photo's of its internals.

No toy shifter is gonna feel like the real deal though, espically a compact one like the Logi one, where there isn't space to simulate a realistic feel of a gearselector. Fitting a stiffer spring should be easy to do though, assuming you don't mind it being stiffer in sequential mode as well.

About the push-down reverse..unless the spring for that is weak enough that resting your hand on the shifter will cause it to start compressing, it isn't unrealistic. My old Ford Escort had a pushdown reverse, never caused a problem.
How you hold the shifter of course makes the pushdown feature more or less noticeable too. I never hold the shifter from the top (like a spider?), I hold it from the side (like a using a hammer). This makes the pushdown become less of an issue.

If you cuff the shifter from the top, then yeah, you will push it down sometimes. The thing is, either way can be fine. However, the way I hold it is faster when you are really shifting quickly. The G25 needs to be swiftly shifted into each gate with some directional force, and not lightly or casually shifted. Just sit there and try and go through each gear one by one, eventually you will get the hang of it.

In my real car I hold the shifter from the side, as you state. But the shifter in the G25 is so small that it's almost impossible to do without pinching my fingers. I'm going to try to rig something up to move the shifter further down and back tonight. Hopefully this will make a positive difference in ease of shifting because I'll be less likely to push down on the shifter (since it will be lower) and I'll be able to find the gears easier since it's closer.

But even if I do manage to move it, I still want to investigate what it will take to put in a longer shift lever and stiffer springs. It just feels way to dainty right now. I want a chunky, manly shifter.

Wow you must have a humungous hand!!!!! :icon23: :icon23: :icon23:

You can take the knob off by removing the top cap. Just a screw in there. The shaft is a "d-shaft" incase you were wondering.
amazing
ohhhmg i need that wheel.

okey , the review is amzing.

thank u very much m8

I'm Still waiting for mine but I sent them a check because my moms credit card didn't work (maxed) so I'll be waiting a few more days/more than a few
As I understand these were very first impressions. I am sure that once you get used to the shifter, it will feel more natural.

Also you have to understand that you are buying a "cheapo" product. Decent three pedal set + good wheel + H-shifter will cost you well over a thousand dollars. Logitech put everything together in a nice little package that sells for $300, obviously something is going to be shit, in this case pedals and shifter.

If you want first class equipment you have to pay accordingly. If you want to save money, know what to expect.
Definitely good points. I wanted to give an honest opinion and bring up some possible negatives that people might want to know about if they're thinking about getting this wheel. Many of the posts about the G25 so far have basically been comparing it to the second coming, and I wanted to temper those a bit with some real world experience and constructive criticism.

I still think it's a quality product and worth the price, but possibly not up to the standards that some were expecting (myself included). I also don't expect it to be on the level of ECCI pedals or BRD wheels, but it seems that some of the things that were done wrong could have been fixed at no additional cost. For instance, the buttons on the shifter would have been much better if they were on the "dashboard" portion of the wheel, in easier reach. The shifter might be better if it used different springs or had a 2" longer shaft. I still like the product, and I think it's good value, but that's not to say that it's perfect and couldn't use some improvement or that it wouldn't benefit from different design decisions.
I ordered mine from Dell on Monday and received it today. If you go to Dell small business, its instantly 10% off which makes it $269 + $25 shipping + $14 tax, go on eBay and they sell Dell Small business: 20% off Accessories coupons for cheap. So with the additional 20% off, it will put it around $250-260 depending on shipping and tax methods. Not bad at all

And I love my wheel, but I got a defect, something heavy was dropped on it(so it looks, may just be a manufacturing defect) as the steering wheel in the 2 o'clock area is bent in. Dont notice it at all during driving, but I am in the process of getting a new one from Dell. BTW the box was in perfect condition, not damaged at all, good fast delivery by DHL
@Cue-Ball
Thank You for the 'lil review! Reading all the good things about this wheel makes me want to buy it more and more :O ... but it cost's hell lot of money =P (and my MOMO Racing is not even 1 year old )
Racing shoes for the G25? Makes it even more realistic and less painful

Thanks for the review

While it will not influence my buying decision, I think it's actually good to dampen the hype a bit. Too high expectations can ruin a product (see nKP), but while the pedals and gear might be of relatively cheap quality compared to the pro stuff, I can still be sure that it's worlds better than my MS FF wheel
Wow, I'd be scared to use a FF wheel with a glass desk, for fear of some git hitting me after the race and shattering it.

Nice to hear I shouldn't have a problem heel/toe driving (big feet).
Well the countdown on Gameseek has disappeared. Simply says they'll send them out as soon as they arrive. So...more waiting.

In the mean time wants to place a bet on when UK retailers will have them? My moneys on next Thursday, shipped out just before the weekend, so we all have to wait till Monday to recieve them.
It says they have them instock at Gameseek.

If that is the case I might switch my order from dabs to GS.
Hmm 30 mins ago it didn't say instock. Might be the automaticated ticker that changed to that.

I'm sure a couple of people here will let you know if we suddenly get G25's turn up on our doorstep
Damn right, they should be posting mine out today, or they'll feel my wrath!
Shame even if they do indeed have them now, and post them today, we won't get them till Monday. Typical i got this weekend off. Starting to get used to no FF again.
If any of you get a dispatch dodar, say so I can switch over to GS, be worth the couple of extra pounds to get it before the end of the month.
