The online racing simulator
yeah someone help us...this happened to me recently while i was trying fraps and LFS went from 30 MB ram in task manager to 128 :| damn thing crashed, anyway to solve this?
Were you trying to film when playing or when playing a replay, because I think to solve the RAM issue you should record with FRAPS whilst playing a replay. This is how I did it when making a movie.
hmm if this is true.. I dont know any better than the framerate drops in ANY game when you start Fraps. Isnt that because your PC has to (re)play the game, capture it and write it to disk at the same time?

In game, when there arent too many cars around, I get around 90 fps on 1280*1024, 8*AA, 4*AF, all details on high.
When I capture with fraps, I have to turn everything off, and play back in a 640*480 window.. and even then it stutters..

So you are saying that that isnt normal?

I never tried to record in-game live, but what I am saying is that I had no problems recording from the Replay. It did not damage my fram rate at all. Try it for yourself and see what happens, I don't know if it will solve it or not.

Quote from LFSn00b :I have usually 20-30 fps whaen im playing, then i start recording, it drops 0-5.

ah, remember Fraps WILL slow your pc down, 30 fps sound onboard speeds, which doesn't help

Sorry, don't know if that FPS drop is "normal" as I can't get fraps to work (no matter what key I press nothing happens!)
