Ok, I really dont know where to start or end this race report, but I'll try to give a little impression of our race.
Start
The start was a bit messy in my environment, I saw a few cars passing me facing the wrong direction (at least not the correct one ) and went a bit sideways myself too.
I was in 10th position after the start I think, I started 8th. I managed to overtake some people and was on the 5th place after I handed the wheel to fellow driver Jari Vienonen after 2 hours.
Jari did a very consistent 2 hours and we were 3rd by a pretty large margin after his 2 hours. Meanwhile it was pretty chaotic trying to reach our third driver and fixing those buggered LiveStats at the same time. Around 14.00, 4 hours into the race, Renee Kooli took over and also did a very good run.
He set the fastest lap of the race for our team, a 2:16.24, which is actually the slowest in the top 10 shared with MasterBlaster.
Then JJ Nylander took over the wheel. His first stint was not very fast, because of the name-bug. He couldnt see the split/laptimes, so the second stint I had to keep him updated all the time using Ventrilo I think Ferrari can send Ross Brawn to retire and ask me, I will be happy with half the salary
So second and third stint went better, and then Jari took over.
Meanwhile team triso, nfaculty and OCR/FXR caught up with us and we were swapping positions every time we did a pitstop.
Then the next takeover, PANIC. Substitute driver Renee got gfx problems while connecting to the server. So suddenly someone else had to take over.
Being an admin (ok, we were lucky on this one) I had to take over, so I quickly clamped the wheel while driving, put my chair right and also had to watch the road .
Ok, so then Renee restarted and took over after one stint. Then he made a mistake that would make the fight for third very close until the end. A spin and an unplanned pitstop put us back behind OCR/FXR.
With only 2 hours to go, it was still open for everyone. Then JJ took the wheel for the last 1.5 hours. We went for higher tire pressure to try to do it with 1 stop. Unfortunately we didnt manage to pull that off, but Vince, driving for OCR/FXR had to do one stop more then us and also got a tyre puncture.
In the end I think about 10 seconds separated us. After 12 hours!
It was really a great race, and I hope to be able to improve the race stats so that the next race will have correct coverage from the start.
