wrote some stuff here, although i would say that you cant do that much, it's intel integrated graphics, adding AA/AF would kill it

Here is my screen, with everything set to the max (although it doesnt hurt performance much, the real FPS killers are elsewhere

EDIT - Optimum - do you mean best looking or best performing or somewhere between? If the latter, what FPS do you get atm?
I don't know what specs that E310 is, but I have an Athalon 64 3500+ with a gig of ram and onboard ATI Xpress 200 chip sharing 256 mb and have my settings almost identical. The thing that is hurting you is the "hardware vertex shading". Having that I think really helps out your FPS, from what I've heard. I am getting 50ish FPS with my onboard chip using 1024x768x32 and 2x/4x AA/AF. The only thing different is I have Mipbias all the way right at 4.00.

I notice you have no for using compressed skins and half textures and it lists texture memory at 17.0. I have the same, but my texture memory is saying using 30.5. Oh wait, I forgot I have high res skies and many of the signs changed from packs that I assume are higher resolution as well. Maybe that's the case.

What FPS are you getting?
I'm getting about 25-50 mostfly hanging around 37-38 but not very consitent

but how come it wont let me change Hardware vertex shading

jakg if i culd put it this way if 100% was best looking and 0% was best performance i would want about 65%

If you suffer with low frame rate try using 16bit colour instead of 32. Means you only need half the memory bandwidth and there is not too much difference between the 2

You can't change the vertex shading because your graphics chip doesn't support it. The Intel chips are very basic. The ATI's and nVidia's are now somewhat decent for being onboard.

FWIW, are you having difficulties with framerate at the start of the race with a server full of other racers? If so, go to the misc options in LFS and select the multiplayer speedup option and play with the slider that appears there. Also there is a dynamic LOD reduction slider that you can move to the right a bit in the misc options. It really helps on the race starts or if you encounter a bunch of traffic ahead and your framerate dips down too low.
Alright i increased the dynamic LOD reduction to .80
user LOD and dust LOD turn it down to get more fps around other cars, dynamic LOD set it to 1 also for the same reason.
will try Barros
I put three screenshots up one of what it looks like when they start- the wheels the square like and the other cars turn into boxes almost ???

another one of my settings in the graphic menu

and another one of my settings in the misc. menu

I want some one to tell me what kind of settings i need to change to make it so i said "65%"

Simple wheels?
? what about the box cars
#13 - Jakg
half texture size - no
Will try
Simple wheels turned off will take care of not being able to see the wheels.

About those octagonal wheel/tires? Can anyone dig deep into their memory and recall what setting fixed that? I remember a loooooong time ago about a discussion on the octagonal wheels. Heck, it might have been back in the RSC forum days. Anyone?
Hello! I have a problem with my FPS level.
I cant reach more than 30 FPS in the game. When a race starts, my FPS goes down to 6 and I usually have big crashes because of it. Its like teleportating yourself from the start line to 20 meters forward.
In graphics options everything is pulled down to minimum.
Now I use U20, but in Patch U it was the same, so it's not because of the patch

My configuration :
ATI Radeon 9600 XT (with Omega driver)
2.4 GHz Intel Celeron
512MB RAM

According to LFS benchmark, LFS should run perfectly with this config.
If you know what to do, please help me, because I cant enjoy this great game in these circumstances. What to buy, RAM, processor, or whatever.

Thanks

Yes, I attached my Graphic options

getting a rubbish FPS in other games? try switching simple track to OFF
As you can see in the Graphics pic, the simple track is already set to off.
Yes, I tried GTR2 and "Race" Demo but I couldn't play with them, because they tear
Or shall I buy a 1GB RAM next to my 512Mb RAM? Or what else can it be? According to LFS benchmark, with this processor it should run perfectly.

your pc isn't the fastest, but something in LFS is set up wrong, as you should get a MUCH better FPS that that, and upgrading wont help
I see. Now I don't know what to do
What would be the best setting in my LFS.

cant see what seems to be the problem either

Try the latest Omega drivers?
I have just checked the Omega drivers, and there are 2 newer drivers than I have now. Downloading the lastest one, and check what happens

afaik one version of the ati drivers (6.4?) gave LFS a biiiiiiiig slowdown, i think its fixed in 6.9, so downloading it might help
