The online racing simulator
Outdated promo material on liveforspeed.net
The promo material on the main LFS site looks like it hasn't been updated for a year. Some examples:

- Tracks: Click on the S2 tracks and you see "No track details yet." (Yet?? It's been over a year!)
- Screenshots: The latest eyecatcher, the BF1, is nowhere to be found.
- Screenshots: The hires packs have dates. The last one is from April 2005.
- Everywhere: S1 and S2 features are mentioned separately, but you can't buy S1 anymore, so S1 is only of historic interest.

This may not make a good impression on newcomers.
Good points, and the website DOES need a revamp to suit the changes we have in S2 (and to suit S2 period). I do also think that it could be presented a bit better. I've been working gradually on some graphic updates for those site sections, but I've been even busier with LFS Files and work
Quote :FXO TURBO

The favorite car in S1, as it is very accessible and fun, being a fast front wheel driven car. Because it is light, it is able to maintain a high speed right through the turn.

The favourite car in S1

When I go to LFS.net I'd like to find some LFS background pictures and maybe some of the best LFS movies could be hosted by LFS?
Yeah, although this is not really a "bug" as such... I really agree that liveforspeed.net needs more attention.

Edit: I like the best-movie-hosting idea.

Those things have not been added yet because the car details are not final yet. Things can change until the S2 release, so why do things twice?

copyright stuff prevents that from happening. most movies or pics have either unlicensed logos/art and/or music.
Agreed, some websites updates would be useful. Not a bug though, I'll move this to improvement suggestions.
Hmm. Renders? I could pretty easily "upgrade" some of my own skins to use LFS approved sponsors, the problem is my skins though, they are crappy. I know renders are and can be a lot work but cars like XRT, FZ50 and RA don't need even skins in those renders, just some badass art to along with. Stuff like this:

Imho, renders could easily improve the LFS media section a lot. All it needs is the approval from the creator of the pics. The in-game screenies don't do too well as background pictures by themselves, they aren't sexy enough. But renders

And Vic could do a LFS soundtrack...
We know that Patch V will be out really soon. They'll have to update the site when that patch is out so hopefully they can also update some of the things mentioned in the first post at the same time.

Then someone (Don?) should make official promo movie/trailer/whatever and avoid this problem by not using any copyrighted stuff. I remember there was some kind of official trailer before S2 was released, might be still in the news section.

They could REALLY use a lesson in decent marketing. Don't bet on any positive changes though.

Cars, fine ,they are NOT final. But tracks? well, they haven't changed AT ALL since the beginning of S2 and we've only gained 2 new layouts on the same track (AS) since patch S, T and U. Speaking of excuses.
Whilst we would need Vic's permission, somewhere (of a website of stuff he did before LFS) I found a remix of 303 Forever. Forgot where though. It would be the mutt's nuts for LFS trailers.

Trouble with renders is that people assume thats how the game will look when playing, which really isnt fair. Just get someone with a top notch PC boost the AA and all the goodies, add in some high res textures for that current track and touch up the finished image in photoshop. Beats any rendered image purely because its genuine!
I didn't realise adding in new textures and photoshop touchups was genuine

yeah, lol
