Damn, how do the reserve get notified when to race? There should be a date befoer the race that everyone has to confirm they're racing or something so that her resevres can be notified to race.
Yes, that system we has got in 1. Czech LFS League and it was fine. But there is another problem i think. People in reserve list have got worse hotlap, then pheople in division 2. So when they will be in division 1, i think it will be not balanced.
Slow HL != Slow racer..i think in D2 is few people, who can be in D1 and be in top 10...hotlapping wasn't the best way to separate drivers into divisions imo.
Agreed, there should be a mix of fast and slow drivers in each division, not goign from fastest to slowest. Should also be first come, first in, but its not my league so can't say. I'm more pissed off at 7 drivers not showing up and no reserves being notified.
Now you are talking back to the division system and I dont agree with you. The reason divisions are made for making the races more competitive for everyone. For example if u have 50% of these fast racers and 50% of these slow racers in division 1, then theres no chance these slow racers can be with pure driving in TOP10 or so. Also one point is that generally these slow racers can be newbies without experience and cause lots of problems when racing against experienced racers.
If the drivers are experienced they shouldn't have problems with noobs. Being a league I'm sure noobs get punished for bad driving so they also take that into consideration themslevs before crashing or whatever noobs do. Anyway we're referring to hotlaps and racing, where some people are faster racing than hotlapping so these people that are slow when hotlappiong can still offer good competition when racing. The fast experienced drivers need someone to overtake, right?
Yes it is true that some drivers have more "luck" in hotlapping, but the gaps in the hotlap charts were way too big for that. 2.3 secs splitting division 1 first place and division 2 first place, so I dont think they can compensate it while racing. However there might be some drivers who just didnt have time or didn't bother to hotlap much.
Anyway I guess there isn't any better way to split the divisions than hotlapping. Although we could have a pre-race for splitting them, but that isnt 100% accurate on drivers real speed since there can be crashes ruining the result etc.
