Lest we Forget
I'll start,

My Father,

CPL, J.L.Skinner.

Oh Canada.

Post your rememberance here.

Peace Out!

Ant:hippy:

p.s. all those icons and not one is a poppy.
I'm sorry if I'm spoiling this thread, but Ant, are you drunk everytime you post such a thread? You're doing quite mysterious and vague

(sorry for my English, but I don't know how to translate what I want to say)
November 11 is Rememberance Day (a.k.a Armistice Day), which commemorates the end of World War I in 1918. It's also used to generally pay tribute to fallen soldiers in all conflicts. Does this not exist where you are?
The Netherlands were neutral in the first World War, so I think there's no such thing as Armistice Day here.
 I should have remembered that actually. Well, half your luck to be left out of that horrific episode.

Anyway, now that you know what AtomAnt's talking about you can stop worrying about him being drunk.
sorry but, whats this thread about dont get it
Now, I know they have R.D. in Ireland...
The avatar says it all and has been for the last week.

Edit - The full horror hits you when you see pictures like this or this and you realise each of those crosses is a death from WW1. If that doesnt bring to you the horror of the world wars (and even wars today) that so people must die then there is something wrong with you.
Also spare a thought to those who gave their lives in conficts after the World Wars. The Falkland Isles, Iraq, The Balkans, Afghanistan etc.

The quote in my sig is from For The Fallen by Laurence Binyon.
I am suprised there has not been more posts here.
Personally i have not lost anyone in my family due to world wars or other wars around the world and i feel lucky for that fact. There are many people who have lost someone - a father, mother, son, daughter, husband, wife etc and i feel sorry for them.

2 almost famous saying
"People should learn from others mistake"
"if you can learn from history then you can not repeat ther mistakes of the past"
Yet many people still die in wars to this day. I am not against wars as it is neccassary at times though.
I didn't know about this day. And I haven't lost anyone in a war. My grandfather lived both world wars, and he's still alive. He'll turn 100 next year.
