1) Simple and perhaps stupid question, what is the best video card, memory, motherboard and cooler for a best gaming computer

1.1)in low budget ?

1.2)it may be expensive ?

My dad has a computer company and soon it are hollidays, perhaps I can convince him to update my computer, been 4 months now since it had new dual core cooling, it like to know if there's any better stuff around and make a 'want to have list', to lets say... surprise him
Also I'm going to buy Total War: medieval 2, a very high demanding game for your hardware so... can be useful !

Thanks ahead !

At the moment the economy-class system is an overclocked E6300 + 1 GB DDR2 RAM + NVidia 7900 GS or that ATI 1800-cheapskate one and a ASrock-board or whatever you fancy.
The E6300 is about 140€, a typical Arctic Cooling Freezer 6 cools it below 40°C.
The GFX boards are around 165€, the 7900 GS from Xpert Vision, which I got, runs at 40°C without modification.

Personally I'd wait for the economy-class DX 10 cards, which should appear within the next months for some 225€. Those will last a lot longet than the 7900 GS/equivalent.

For nobody, a keyboard is more important than for GC.
dx10 videocards are starting to come out. the 8800 gtx is already out, so dx9 card's will probably start to drop in price.

Since you mention Medieval 2, I'd direct you to PC Gamer, who know a sight more than me. They recommend you have a 3GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. It sounds like you're probably there already. I recently bought an Nvidia 7900GTO and that copes quite happily with the Medieval demo, I don't have the game yet. Some people mentioned the keyboard - that's what I'd say. Get better peripherals, a really good display for example. That's the bit you actually look at so whatever you put in the box depends on that to be good. Like you said, the wheel changed your experience. It's the tools you use to interact with the computer that matter as much as what's in it.
OK thanks a lot, guess I'll wait and google some about those DX10 cards.
Perhaps dull question but DX10 is the terme used for nvidia I suppose ? What is it with ATI named ? And, is there any remarkeble difference between ATI and nvidia ?

i think this will answer your question about Direct X: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_x
Oooh DX10 stands for direct X 10, I know that.
Was thinking it was a name of a card
