I like German (thus why im taking it as a GCSE), im not that good though, remember going to a German Cake-place (ein Kuchengecheft?), and there were about 60 of us in there, one person polietely asked her if she had any Chocolate cake left (Haben sie einen Chocoladen Kuchen?), her reply was her screaming "NEIN!"

All us english people looked around in amazement and the Germans didnt even flinch.

Also saw the "Cillit Bang" advert, in German, with a meek little lady shouting "BANG! Und die schmutz ist nicht!"

how long have you been studying german ?

Quote from fapex :I don´t know why everyone relates Hasselhoff to Germany. He´s gay and every german thinks so.

I never use the funny characters on forums, as i can never remember how to get them!

Hey, I even learned your funny currency symbol "£"
(They are called "Umlaut[insert plural form of your choice here]" fyi)
Quote :sounds like "Ich leibt du"

It doesn´t. Pay attention in school or watch german TV shows.
I would say it sounds like "Ihhhhh liiiiiibe tihhhhhh".
Quote from Jakg :I never use the funny characters on forums, as i can never remember how to get them!

üõöäß - copy and paste from here or get a german keyboard.
"Õ" isn´t really german I think.
I know that it's control+shift+semicolon and then the letter for umlauts in MS word. Lemme test it here.

No, it doesn't work on forums.

Quote from duke_toaster :Interesting fact about Germany : IIRC it's the only country where a metal (any sub-genre) band has had the most album sales from that country in that country's main language.

Most sold records in total, in a year or...?

And german "metal".... ehm Speed izt leben!

Haben sie kartoffeln. Bist du ein potatis? Danke geinzhalts!
Quote from AJS :I waited for some funny part like her brother entering the room and beat her up a little bit but nothing.

wenn ihr glaubt die waeren schwul dann seid ihr selber schwul !

I have a fetish for movies that has German voice dubbing.

Not...
I made Bergade the demo player say something in Dutch, americans talking Dutch are funny as hell! Especially if you don't tell them what they are saying... moehehehe!
The only German I remember from school is my excuse:

Yet more bad music by a bunch of German emo nancy boys

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxbQAqMQFC0

Oh, that is most pansiest pansy poofter music I have heard. Sprout some sack, you pseudo girls!

Notice the drummer is about the most normal...he will be gone soon, to be replaced by...I dunno, Azrael the mopey.
i have the same experience as the most of u (germans ) that (especially americans) want to say something in german as soon as they find out that ure german.
i still dont know why
when they meet some1 from finland they dont care. same for polish. or whatever country. but german.... kinda wierd, but i always enjoy it
bad side is they mostly only know "bad" words what aint that impressive lol.
