Help With PC!
Okay, I'm extremely confused now... I am deleting old things off my computer through "Add or Remove Programs" I have about 40 things that are on the list, nothing over 263 MB, but when I check my C: hard drive, it says ITS NEARLY FULL! I'm nervous that someone has hacked into my computer and using is as storage Although it is probably something stupid that I'm unaware of...

PLEASE HELP!

Programs aren't the only things on your hard drive. You have the My Documents folder for each login name, the windows directory, any films or music you've got on there. It all adds up.
buy a mac
theres NO WAY i used up ~73 GB, im the only person on my PC? Virus Maybe?

oh, and if someone suggests for me to get a mac, they can go hang themselves
Hahah! No. I've used up a total of 150gb in months. It goes faster than you'd ever imagined
There are many things wich don't appear in the Add/Remove Window. Live for Speed for example.
Search for large files (searching for files larger than 100MB should be large enough), including hidden and system folders. Some programs (*cough*Sage MMS3.5*cough*) can generate huge temporary files, sometimes in locations they shouldn't, which aren't always deleted.

If you can't find any large files themselves, then run windirstat (http://sourceforge.net/projects/windirstat/) to see which directory / files are using the space.
TAA, That did the trick... Fraps sucks!! That was cluttering ALLLLOT of space! (the decompressed vids)

Quote from Bob Smith :I've not checked it, but from your description it sounds like TreeSize Pro, that damn thing should have been built into Windows yonks ago, so useful.

Pretty much, only Free Totally agree though it should've definately been built in ages ago

Quote from JTbo :JDiskReport is what I have used.

btw, i got it working... uncompressed .avi's
Also most of these P2P Programms got an extra Incomplete folder, and if you cancel a download, they sometimes don't delete the half downloaded stuff (i know limmewire doesn't, same for some Bittorrent clients)

You do know those posts are in response of this thread right?

now stop being so pathetic
also....the deinstall utlity doesnt always show the "true" file size.
mostly not cuz it only counts the "blank" install.
good example, my fav game Enemy Territory.
it says that its 400 mb or so, but in fact the folder is 2 gig (cuz of mods maps ect).
and as already said a lot programs / game w/e arent even listed.

Yeah, but WHO wants to remove LFS??

I am just curious how you can get around with just 80GB of space. I have 670GB(1x 300GB, 1x 250GB, and 1x 120GB) and am already planning on buying another HDD.
try downloading less pr0n.

Thanks, this program seems interesting and useful. I've used Sequoia view before but this looks like a better alternative.
