Vista -> Hosting a server
Hi,

On my laptop, since i have vista i cannot run a server, the display says: SetupServerSocket: bind failed

Same problem when i run it on dedicated tool.

Someone with the same problem?

(ps: It's about Vista Premium edition, aka another failure by windows)
It works fine on Vista.

Either you've configured the IP directive incorrectly, or you have a firewall which "steal" ports by preventing them from being bound to by programs.
Same problem here, but only if I use a very high port number like 63392. My problem disappeared when I switched to a much lower port number. Seems to me that Vista doesn't allow these high port numbers, even with the firewall disabled. Does anybody know the reason for this?
100% fine for me, i just get the joos error sometime but i just /reinit and its fine. i port forwardedand trigged and its all fine....
Running THREE servers on a Vista setup..using ports 63340, 63350, and 63360.
All are running a separate instance of LFS Lapper that is configured to share the data (PB's etc) between all three.
These are running through a Netgear DG 834 Wireless/Wired Router and firewall...

No problems whatsoever
