The online racing simulator
Divide LFS into 3 different modes
Mode 1: Classic

The game we have now. The classic LFS

Mode 2: Evolution (STCC Style)
  1. Class 1: The stock cars, to start with, XFG, UF1, XRG. Add lower powered RB3, LX3, FXG (low powered FXO)
  2. Class 2: (TBO) XFI, UF2, XRT, RB4, LX4, FXO
  3. Class 3: (LRF) XFT, UF3, XRF, RB5, LX6, FXF + RAC, FZ5
  4. Class 4: (small GTR) XFR, UFR, XRO, RB6, LX7, FXT
  5. Class 5: (GTR) FXR, XRR, RAR, FZR, LX8
  6. Class 6: (S-S) FOX, FO8, BF1 (all in different classes, i know.)
This is only the current cars, but as i see it, there will be more cars in l the future. So the selection could be even bigger. Ofcourse all this would take place online. It would be something like STCC is atm.

Mode 3: Free

So this would be for the satisfaction of drifters, tuners, dragers, bikers?, karters? etc.

So this is basically it, it's just an idea. Now everyone can go ahead and think how this would work online.
I don't get it.
You want more cars and?
:wtf2:
This just seems to be a request for server classification unless I'm missing the point?
Basically, it would be 3 different types of games, but all on the same physics engine.
The evolution mode would be like STCC is now, where u have to progress through the classes. Almost like it used to be in S1 where u had to earn credits to unlock cars. But now with certain amount of credits/points u would unlock the next class of cars.

The "Free" mode would be the open part of lfs, still unmodable, but the cars could be tuned, repaired (with credits/points again). U know, the ricey part of lfs. Also in Free mode there could be an option to actually buy credits with real money, via credit card or usual bank transfer, rather than just race to get points.

The classic mode, that should be self explanatory.
I don't think, we need so much new cars and new classes. What we really need is well-balanced classes and maybe few cars to small classes - some competitor for UF1, some RWD small GTR, etc. And of course, I really want to see a truck in LFS
that classification mode seems cool . Reminds me of how it was done in the Kudos World Series in Project Gotham Racing 2. Altho, it'll require mr. Eric to make more cars which makes the idea fade away but still, would be fun . If they can get the same idea of Cone Challenges like in PGR2, that would be sweet except make platinums EVEN harder to get

There is no reason to divide LFS into 3 sub modes. The reason is that at least those 3 modes don't have enough "juice" to live separately. Buying parts would only work as mmorRpg and LFS doesn't really have the facilities for that.

Why would the system you suggest be better than the one we have now?

Also I don't like how you have just made dozen slightly different versions of every car in LFS LX8 is a +1 though

Imho, if anything a new track could spice things up
The classes don't have to differ much in appearance, the performance matters.
The mode 2 sucks if you mean that you have to race the same bunch low end cars in 1001 races before you 'can' progress to next level. No matter how good times you are able to do in faster cars (or how fair driver you are).

I really don't see how that would make the racer/server situation any better than what it is right now in S2. Only a few servers get constantly racers and interesting combos are difficult to find (with anybody online already). In that case even more people play the 'progress' mode and what if you have no interest to play the low end cars in the set tracks? It certainly doesn't help finding good races if some of the players are playing behind 'closed' doors.
More cars is OK. But more cars through little changes in design and power of cars would be a step in the wrong direction.

Car suggestions that are OK: RBR, RAR and LX8

in my opinion senseless: RB3, LX3, FXG, UF2, UF3, XRF, FXF...

we need completly new cars. A mid engine coupe similar to the Honda NSX (in smaller class) and in a higher class to the McLaren F1 would make sense. Or a GT1 Version of the FZR, similar to the Porsche GT1. Plus a new fictious car in the style of an Panoz GT1.
With these three cars we could have a new class: The GT1 class: GTR Cars @ 600hp

+some prototypes

Please Eric,please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seems like this is a roundabout way of asking for stuff thats been asked for before, the 'career' and 'tuning' elements of games. Some further derivatives of the existing cars would be nice, lots would be redundant.
Yeah. All we need is the 'classic mode'. If you want tuning/career you need to look for other games.
We don't want career modes. No-one said to Kimi Raikkineon "no, you have to do formula 3 first".

Career modes and tuning are for Granny car Turismo.
+1 to each of the new cars suggested. Nothign wrong with adding diversity tot he classes while you balance them.

a mid engine GTi class cr similar to an MR2 is also a good idea

the modes are un needed but the cars seem like a good idea

I'd also like to see TBO class obsorbed into a sports car class with non turbos that perform at avery similar level
Quote from LFSn00b :There is 4 different types already:
Training
Multiplayer
Singleplayer and
Hotlap

Agreed. LFS already has an unnofficial career mode, i call it unnofficial as it isn't implemented in LFS itself. You buy lfs and you know the three demo car's and bl1. You learn other tracks other car's. Race online, build up miles and pb's, get noticed by a team and join a team. Enter bigger and better races with better competition than pick up ad play, e.g League's. This goes on and on and is more like a real career than a 'get X amount of points and then you can progress to the next stage'

From your 3 idea's the classic and the free are what we have now (minus a few vehicle's) as we have racers, drifters and draggers but just in on group.

As for more cars in different classes sure everyone wants more car's and tracks. If we could get more cars in the same class and balanced that would be the best as irl unless you are in a single car cup then there is a wide range of cars in the championship.

So different modes -1, it isnt needed we already have them now.
More cars/tracks +1, ofcourse everyone wants more

I don't see a need for a system like this. LFS is a racing simulator, some people want to use it to drift, and they can. So I don't see why there would have to be a seperate rice version of LFS.
Plus I don't like the idea of having to race a car I might not like to get the cars I do like. In a singleplayer game this would be a challenge, but LFS is very multiplayer oriented where the racing online provides the biggest challenge.

Where is the MRT?
It's too busy having fun being driven autocross circuits to care for classes.
