Since I got some spare time now, I made an other movie.. I used some small idea's from "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain" and some Top Gear episodes.

It's a slowmotion movie. Sorry for the compression, kinda screws a lot.
Oh, and I am not going to upload a YouTube version.

Music by Sigur Rós. The song is called 'Refur', from the maxi-single of Saeglépur and Hoppípolla. The little sound design here and there is done by myself, just vinyl noise with a lot of effects over it.

Lovely! REALLY great!

I don't know if it was intentional (I'm assuming it was), but there was just a *hint* of the sound of the car, when it was close. It sounded like just the tyre sound, and it really added to the feeling. Fabulous vid!

It was supposed to suggest the tyre sound, yes. I didn't want to add an engine sound, because that would screw up the movie. So I added noise sounds to make the car a little more impressive.

I think the zoom in the very first part of the Video was a bit too fast. A few calm and slow moving Shots of the car would fit better (imo ofcourse). Apart from that, very good.

Hey, thanks people. The zooming is indeed a little too fast, really a shame, but when I had finished it I found it added a little to the 'pressure' in the beginning. Problem is I couldn't do it slower..

Anyway, I added a streaming link. But! Beware, it's more compressed then it already was, and it's not as smooth anymore. If really want to view it, just download it via rapidshare or megaupload.

And the laptime was 1.12.58.

Nice video Darkone. Have you tried using Xvid to help with the blockiness? If it doesn't help just keep increasing the bitrate until the blocks are gone. There's nothing wrong with using 5000 kbps for high detail clips @ 50 fps.

Very nice! The music and effects give it that real calm feeling

Stage6 was propgating a Virus with the Codec about 3 weeks ago, actually, because i got it via the "AutoUpdater" it launces.

Very nice, loved the wind/tire noise, whatever it was it added some nice immersion into the movie.

There is one thing I did not like about it however, and that would be, you should have taken the FZ50 out before and done some drifting around the turns to give the ground a nice worn from skidmarks look, otherwise it's to clean, but that is just me critiquing small details, but it would have added a nice depth.

I totally agree with you.. But.. As the little text in the beginning suggests, I had to do a lot of laps before I had a decent one. So, you would think, there should be a lot of skidmarks. Well, the replay only gets recorded when you restart a race. But when you restart a race, all the skidmarks disappear too.

True, I see your point.
To bad there isn't a button to start recording or something.

Then if you watch them on Stage6, you've already been "infected with the EVILLLL DivX virus." What the hell do you think Stage6 installs to play DivX, I can sure as hell say it doesn't install Furry Pandas.

Nice vid though, nice to see a car not used often in vids and in a different environment.
