I won my bank charges back!!

There has recently been a clear-up of a few laws in the UK meaning that banks are less able to make an profit from overdraft charges and are only allowed to charge a fee proportional to the actual admin costs, as well as enabling people to claim back their charges for the bast 6 years.

Basically a few years ago, I went overdrawn one month and quickly put the money back. My bank then charged me for this and I went overdrawn again, for which they then charged me AGAIN. This happened on and off for about a year and a half, with me being charged up to £80 a time, which would leave me out of pocket for the rest of the month, making me likely to go overdrawn again.... etc...

Quote :"...we are prepared to make a payment to you for the sum of £451.80 in full and final settlement of the matter."

Also

Quote :"...We are not however prepared to refund certain charges for the following reasons: The addition of your claim was incorrect. The actual total of your charges was £477.00."

Haha.. I only claimed for £414.

I suggest anyone in the UK who has suffered bank charges they feel are unreasonable to read this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6170209.stm

Yey! Now It's time to update your rig and get a nice cockpit :P unless you already have one.

er RiGun...he said £451.80, _NOT_ £4518.00...over here he would be lucky to get change left after a good night out with that much!

Those charges sound excessive, got that wunch of bankers like a kipper
This is kind of old news, but well done none the less!
I already have a 22" monitor, and while another two would be *nice* it wouldn't quite stretch to that...

Nearly, but not quite.

I'm thinking of saving it up for a DX10 card and Vista once the games start appearing for it.

Here, in Argentina, with 451.80 Pounds you would have...
2,869.93 Argentineans Pesos

And the average wage is about 1.500 Argentineans pesos or something like that, well I think that this has nothing to do with this thread so I should stop posting non-sense stuff

Change? can anyone spare some change?

EDIT: People from the UK should come here as tourists, it would be really cheap!
