I've worked today on the known server crashing vulnerability issues.

You may wish to try this dedicated host, which is fully compatible but should not be crashable by hackers - by the known methods and more.

Please let me know if you come across any problems. You only need to change the LFS.exe file - the rest of the zip is the same as X10.

Can't you track those guys down and prosecute them? And can't we do the same for Phlos?

Does anybody knows whether that fix disable that infamous noz mode - the one that allow hackers go beyond normal speed of a car?

A fix doesn't exist at the moment, but I assume Scawen is working on it.

Give the devs a break for heaven sakes!

Just wait for Patch Y in my honest opinion!

At the end of the day, if you're bothered about speed hacks, kick for high speeds, maybe using an insim app if you're that bothered.

If we keep bothering the devs for a stupid bug fix, the new patch will never manage to make it out.

Scawen said in another topic that he is busy coding, THE AI! So, I can and im sure all you can, understand that its bloody indepth coding, just leave them be. Im sure they will add it to their cheat protection!

No, the speed hack etc are old tricks, where the hacker changes some values in the program, for example negative handbrake, so the handbrake can spin up the rear wheels with great power.

But that is protected in the code by a cheat protection system. Unfortunately LFS hackers have hacked the part of the cheat prevention system in their LFS.exe so it doesn't detect their modified values.

Thanks for that Scawen. Should be a handy fix. Never come across the problem but it saves me from coming across it.

Yeah .. This is a patch for the DEDICATED SERVER (hence it being posted in the LFS Hosts Forum). If you've overwritten any files in your standard LFS installation I suggest re-downloading LFS S2 Alpha 0.5W from the LFS website.
