Whats happened?

CTRA Race 1 is booming, some great racing there. Always a good number of people online to race with.

The thing I miss is the TBO racing. Whats happened guys? I was on Race 2 yesterday when it was TBO & STD on Kyoto National, but there was like 7 people there. Whats happened to all you who used to be on the old TBO STCC server? There always used to be a massive croud on there, bringing some of the best racing i've ever seen and competed in, better than in leagues in some instances.

Do non of you miss this? I for one are craving some good old CTRA racing.

I would race there but im stuck with my Silver Licenses so when ever its TBO im stuck with the UF1 and thats not very fun as it could be, but GTRs are diffrent but the servers usally empty when it is so even if i raced i wouldnt get many to upgrade to Gold.
I hope Race2 gets life again its been hard finding a good practice server these days there always so empty.

I will be dropping UF1 from Race 2 and reducing TBO to silver. The UF1 can now be raced on BnJ fairly frequently. It's not the same but we just dont have the playerbase to fit it in. We tried, it didnt work, so TBO's return to silver shortly.

7 people on the ctra2 is already a quite high amount of racers :/

Becky - I'm glad to hear your thinking about the problem, hopefully TBO racing will be back to its former glory soon.

Race 2 is usually on GTR´s anyway... At least that´s how it seems to be when I look at the server´s list.

Imo Race 2 lost some of it´s drivers to SS and BnJ servers but what really killed it off was making it alternate between GTR´s and TBO´s. Now when the car classes switch the server empties instantly because most people only like one of those classes. (I only like the TBO.) And getting an empty server to fill up again is much much much harder than keeping an already occupied server occupied. People join servers that already have people in them.

I dont visit Race 2 as much since it became almagamated, I do prefere the TBO when its there, however this so called "lull" will be over soon Im sure

TBO is the way to go. I think most hard core CTRA drivers spent the majority of their time in the TBO class, even when they could progress to a higher server because the quality of racing was so good. When CTRAX came about, most opted for the FOX in SS1 but the quality of driving was never quite as good as before as there was no pre-qualification and anybody could jump straight into the FOX. I believe this is the main reason why drivers have drifted away from that server. Bring back TBO with a minimum requirement of a silver license. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is the moral of the story here.

kind of agree with Tony, although i did not really race the TBO's as i was rubbish at them.

Back to the known formula and bring the GTR's oit on 'certain' nights or when the player base increases.

I know for sure that at the end of the Baby-R league we are practicing and about to run you'll get more people back on your servers

What will happen to the GTR's/GT2 then? Will GT2 be scratched altogether, or will it require Gold? I've never really raced the TBO's as I only recently got to silver. I love racing the GT2 cars when there's a good crowd on Race2, but whenever the server changes to TBO/UF1 the server is empty within a couple of minutes

IMO - mixed class on a pick-up race will never work. The UF1 should never have been anywhere near the TBOs and GT2s should be raced on their own without GTRs that only serve to interrupt the flow of good close racing that can be had with them. The GT2 is a vastly under-rated car that never really got a chance in the shadow of the GTR.

The GT2 and mini GTR's during beta testing was great, however i think the inclusion of the GT1's just mean that in pickup races there is not enuff racers in one class for the racing to be suitable.

Why not make CTRA2 into a TBO server, then open a CTRA3 and have the GTR/GT2's on there?

Isnt that exactly how it was at the beginning?

And the reason for the change was low number of drivers on the two servers.

No in beginning server 3 was empty because even for GT2 you needed gold i think.

I'm just throwing random ideas into here. I'm sure Becky can work out something suitable.

GTR needs to have the highest license requirement IMO. So leave that at Platinum, and make the GT2 available for Gold. Make Race 2 a TBO server again for Silver licensed racers. That makes the most sense to me

So to sum up:

Race 1: XFG/XRG for Copper/Bronze
Race2: TBO for Silver
Race3: GT2 for Gold and GTR for Platinum

Race2 is populated more often now when GT2/GTR is on, so I don't think that would change if those cars moved to CTRA3. And the TBO fans would have a server as well, and enough people to populate the server as all the Silver licensed guys (including me) wouldn't be able to race GT2 anymore.

I guess those are great news. TBO permits a higher level of performance, but still accessibility to a great number of players, and with enjoyment. It's like STCC, but available for the general driver.

I see your point, Jack, but I don't think the CTRA driver base can keep three tin-top servers busy. What seems like the easiest method is to keep the Race 2 server alternating between TBO and GT2/GTR, but to drop the UF1 entirely and make the TBO-class cars Silver-licence. The problem with this is that it leaves no advantage for Gold drivers - and if you made the GT2 class Gold-licence, Silver drivers would only be able to race half of the time - not being allowed anything when GT2/GTR comes up.

Three servers is worth a try, though, just to see what happens - all we can do without testing it is speculate.
Removing the UF1 and keeping TBO-class as Gold in their own server would allow everyone to race all the time, and each licence tier would still bring a new class.

Is that all 3 TBO cars to silver, or like it was before because of the difference in car performance? Either way, so glad to hear it and cant wait!

I like the GT cars on race 2. Its nice break from the race 1 banger racing and so much better then racing on the CD(crash dummies) servers.

Yep, every time I look it's GTRs, or it's empty with TBO. I don't race there much since it was almagamated.

A lot of times there is TBO racing on Race 2 server, like 50% of the time I would belive. You only need silver to drive the GTR cars too, just use restriction. Strange that so many people doesn`t know this.
