HI

it's my record : SPR

i can't drive better than it !

what's wrong in my driving?

any idea ...

what is best tyres pressure for set up?

maybe i must just practice.

thank's and sorry about my english.
Hi Sam,

1.33xx is considered fast around here so theres not alot wrong with your driving

watching the replay, you tend to drift too far right when braking for Turn1, if you stay to the left and take a similar line like you take through T3, you could get on the gas sooner, there you could gain 10/100 sec before the 1st split and carry the extra speed down the straight into the 2nd sector, you could also try trailbraking (possibly requiring some changes to the set) and this might also earn you a few 10ths

Most of my XFG sets use around 20-30 PSI the lower your tyre pressures make the car feel like it has more grip but tyres will heat up faster and produce slower top speeds, I would have a play with the front and rear camber settings, feel the changes and fine tune with the ARB's.

How much fuel do you use? if your gonna do all that tyre warming nonsence just fill to 5% or so, the lighter the better.

What view are you using? if custom or wheels view try swapping the driver to RHD for clockwise tracks, it makes a small difference to cornering and tyre wear

Change your cars colour to RED they are always the fastest cars

Practise practise and practise

SD.
thank you very much .
Going faster is mostly a mind thing, your doing what feels comfortable and safe. As a consequence you can find yourself in a rut not being able to improve been there many times myself

You could improve the most in sector 2, coner at end of straight need to aim for minimum of 110km you can take it at 111 - 112 with practise. Same with the second chicane take it a few km/h faster.

You do get on the gas early which is good and obviously have taken to heart the slow in fast out principle. But I'd say your being a tad coservitive in the braking and transition zones.

To get yourself out of a rut I'd recommend you to force yourself to overdrive. i.e. aim to have the minimum apex speed a few km/h above what you currently are comfortable with and attempt to brake a little later than you do now. Don't worry about lap time or safe driving while you do this, the aim is to try discover where you can go faster.

After you have done a number of laps like this return to trying to get a fast clean lap, I guarantee you, you will find a few more tenths after some perseverence

Oh and don't listen to SparkyDave about RHD in the XFG LHD is faster arround BL1 - ask [Duck] if you don't belive
Don't think RHD or LHD makes much difference, I think its all preference and what your comforatble with. I although being English prefer LHD as it would easier to immitate the WR sets which were LHD. If I could give any tips at the moment forcing your self to drive faster may pay of sometimes but you will probably crash more. More or less aim for consistancey. Once you hit that time a few times you will accidently get faster and pickup more track knowledge. Also watch other peoples replays to see what they are doing!

Edit: just looked at replay.

In my opinion I would not concentrate on the first split as you have it pretty fast, ( just aim getting that consistant!). With a 31.28 first split you could get a 1:33.50 easy peasey. So this means you lose time in the second and third splits. Mainly you could be carrieng a few more mph in a few of the corners. Also I would like to praise you on smoothe steering.(helps alot carrying speed around corners).
Once you get the second and third split up to speed and you facey shaving more time off I would suggest looking at manual clutch and gears (watch replays where people "skip" gears entering the first corner). have fun!
this is my bl1 xfg setup

any suggestion for improving time ?

thank you

my wheel turn is 520 like in setup.

There isn't really any such thing as an ideal setup, your setup looks reasonable

Having said that you will probably evolve the way you like your setup over time as your driving style develops, if you are now managing to go around some high speed corners abit quicker than before you might try slightly higher camber angles. Other than that it is pretty much personal taste i.e. what gives you the most confidence.

If you can identify any area's that you are not happy with when driving i.e. corner entry, trail braking, apex, corner exit, etc and what it feels like (oversteer, understeer, unstable, etc), I'm sure someone could help you out plenty of setup wizard about in lfs.
