Help with simple G25 pedal mod...
Hi there,

Further to my previous thread about heel and toeing on the G25, I have decided to carry out a simple pedal mod. It involves using pieces of wood to place the clutch and brake about 1 inch 'higher' than the accelerator and to place the brake and accelerator closer together. This should help approximate a real cars pedals more closely.

It should look a bit like the pictures attached... (Not too aesthetically pleasing but should do the job. I don't intend to move the clutch quite that far.)

Now, how should I space the pedals? ie how close should I place the brake to the accelerator, and the clutch to the brake?

Thanks.

Space them to fit your feet size, i guess. If you have them so its the most comfortable, you will perform better and hence be faster.
hmmm thats a good idea

Thats what I was thinking, to be honest. As it stands, I'm thinking of moving the brake about 1.5cm to the right, and the clutch about 2cm to the left. I was really just wondering if there was any 'universal' pedal setups about, which there probably isn't.

Thanks
Nah, whatever is comfortable. If you can make slots (in the wood) then you can tweak later on really easily. I'm going to mod my pedals using some chipboard (left over from my kitchen installation) so that the brake and throttle are level only when braking hard too.

Where you have it now looks okay though.
I've got another fun mod for people to try out, all you need is an alan key that fits the pedal mounts, nothing else.

Unscrew the pedals, so you've got the metal plate with the holes in it, then just move it up one step (do this on the accelerator and clutch only, the brake will lose too much pressure and become crap).

This means you've got an extended range of movement and a more accurate throttle, I like to keep my clutch nice and easy too, so I did the same with my clutch, its now easier to push down and hence less tiring on a long race.
