So I thought as I as was closing LFS, "I wonder what the lessons are like now".
Answer: Once you get past the ones with cones and braking tests and so on, rubbish.
Half of them are "Just drive", totally aimless, no purpose to it...surely someone could come up with something with a fragment of imagination to it - even just a timed lap would be better. Most people will have tried the cars at least briefly already, so it's drive for 10 seconds and hit Escape to go to the next one.
The ones with 3 AIs are even worse. The brief is "Don't cause a collision" but in reality it's "don't hit the AI, but watch out! They have no idea that you're there, and the slightest contact, your fault or not will result in you failing the test!".
It renders the lessons completely useless if they're meant to train people to race safely online.
NB: I'm not saying they're impossible to complete, just totally flawed, and it should say so. When you pass an AI fairly, out brake it for instance, hold the line, and get hit in the back as the AI turns in from the outside line, the lesson is a fail. That means it was you that failed, your mistake, and that is totally misleading. They should be scrapped until they work properly.
