Few months ago, I got a new monitor. Few weeks ago, my Dad told me that a mic was built into it. I tested it soon after, for a commentary, and as I spoke, nothing came out of it when I listened to it.

Does my monitor actually have a mic? It's detecting it but its not working...

How exactly does it plug in? The monitor will have the obvious VGA or DVI plug, but does the mic plug in via USB or via a Jack?

Not exactly sure Jack, but at the top of my monitor it says:

Like Jakg said, if it had a built in mic you'd need either an additional USB connection or a mic plug. If it doesn't have those then no, it doesn't have a built in mic.

That doesn't help.

If it ONLY has the VGA or DVI plug then... it doesn't have a mic, lol.
