a little suggestion to reduce messy midrace joining
I am not a huge fan of midrace joining.

Races pretty often get messed up by people who join and interfere, Run into tyrewalls, tailgate slower drivers and pass at inconvenient places.

Everybody knows they have no place in the race.

To promote cleanliness for midrace joiners I would like to suggest a 5 point discount for each yellow flag they cause.

Just a suggestion...

Yep! What Niels said

Drivers who midrace join are constantly advised of the waved blue flag. They're also repeatedly reminded "Give way to [car behind]". If they ignore those messages, they can definitely expect some hefty penalties, because there is absolutely no possible way to plead ignorance. Please do report them.
Non midrace joining is a real pain the butt for me personally. I fully understand why on a busy server you would want to control access and 'interference' but on the higher ranked servers with less racers at any one time (Espeacially if you are waiting for a two car race to finish and all you want to do is do a bit of testing keeping yourself well out of the way) I find the midrace join rules frustrating. I understand their need and rules is rules but still frustrating.

Mebbe a graduated set of rejoin rules could be an option. The higher your license grade (For any particular series. I wouldn't expect to rejoin on a BF1 race whilst only having a rookie licence (I know, I know, I couldn't anyway but you get my point)) the more you are allowed to rejoin. The higher the points then usually the more respectul the driving anyway. And if anyone really is flagrantly abusing the rejoin system and blue flags then a simple reportage should be all that is needed.

But saying all that, nothing is more frustrating than banging up behind a midrace joiner when you are on a flyer taking seconds of the leader with only a few laps to go. Whether they get out the way pdq or dither around, it's still off puting.

But I guess rules is rules.

Well, the problem isn't that a racer is mid-race joining. The problem is that the racer isn't respecting the blue flag. I don't think we need to do anything to the MRJ system except enforce its rules.

I've come across a couple of misnomas about the CTRA system that I think probably need dispelling. The rules that we hold people to in Race 3 are the same rules that we hold people to in Race 1. The only difference being the penalty (but see point 2). If you go ignoring waved blue flags, it doesn't matter which server you're in, you're in the wrong.

Point 2 being that the rules that we hold people to are PER LICENCE, and NOT PER SERVER (emphasis, not shouting ). I've seen some bad behaviour recently in Race 1 by Platinum racers. When challenged, they seem to have genuinely believed that "it's okay" to act like that since they're in Race 1 and the rules aren't as strict. Nuh uh!

Report anyone breaking the rules, please. The same rules, no matter what server. If it's a newbie, we'll educate them rather than hammer them (unless it's apparent, as is only too often the case, that they know they're doing the wrong thing.. then we'll hammer them).
