How do you brake, g25 users?
i press the brake pedal, and everytime im coming to dowshift i tip the clutch. Is that slow or wrong??
Well I would think if your down-shifting then your slowing down, and the brakes are meant to slow you down! The engine on the other hand is not meant to slow you down, it is meant to make you move faster. So the brakes are for slowing down and the engine is for speeding up, therefore you should be pressing the brakes when you are downshifting. Don't use the engine compression to slow the car down, its not really what the engine is designed to do. I can't say whether or not it hurts the engine (unless the revs are too high) but the car has brakes - use them, and blip the engine if your still going too fast when your releasing the clutch.
The reason you use engine braking is to relieve the brakes a bit, and if you're an advanced driver to dynamically alter the brake balance/bias for a corner. In LFS it's only used for the latter, as brake heat and wear isn't yet implemented.
With stock G25 you should probably just start to brake and while still braking press the clutch, downshift to the right gear and when you have reached the speed you wanted to slow down to (you should be at corner entry now), depress the brake pedal, press the gas to match the revs and then declutch. Everything should be as smooth as possible while as fast as possible ;-)

On short races (most races online actually) with RWD cars you can declutch sooner and more aggressively (fe. while you are still braking) to make the car go oversteer (called "shift-lock" in drifting slang). I'm using it to warm up the tyres at the beginning of the race or when I want to have some fun in sharp corners (SO City).

The best you can do is to mod the pedals a bit (search the forum, basicaly you need to pad the clutch and brake pedals) and practice heel&toe downshifting to minimize clutch-in time.
You are missunderstandind something
i dont really use engine braking.
i hold the brake for the whole time, but the clutch i only tip on, i mean i release it after downshifting but the brakepedal is pressed teh whole time
I have stock G25 and I still use heel 'n toe. First I press brake pedal as much as it is possible in that situation to not lock wheels and when revs are low enough for smaller gear, I quickly push clutch and at the same time I blip throttle with heel 'n toe and shift to lower gear. Normally I go thru all gears, I skip gears only if in situation that wasn't planned. This is just normal braking technique during racing.

You see, if you are not pushing throttle or clutch, or not in N, you are using engine braking.
I know this is slightly off topic but you can easily heel and toe with a stock G25, I do it all the time. It may be made easier by modding the pedals a bit but its not all too hard with the stock setup.

G25 1337ests aren't the only people with clutch's also they're not the only people with brakes.
