Normal to have to release the pedal to shift up ?
I got a momo racing wheel, is it normal that i must release the gas pedal to be able to shift up ???
Yes, in most cars. A few cars like the BF1, FO8, FOX, XRR and FXR have auto-cut on upshift and thus do not require lifting.

Please try to keep small questions like this in one thread. You already started your help thread; put all your questions in that one.
Sorry but isn't it strange that you got to release the gas pedal in the Formula BMW car, to shift up the gear?
Maybe I made mistakes setting up my LFS... Please let me know...

#4 - word.
Having to lift off is perfectly normal. Have you ever used a manual sequental gearbox in real life?
Sure, but the Formula BMW has a 6 gear sequential gearbox right? Doesn't the driver shift up and down with paddles? Am I saying rubbish?
It's a manual sequential - the driver still has to operate clutches, throttles and gear levers manually to initiate the shift.
Yes you are. The driver is shifting with the sequential gear stick. However, being sequential just means you cannot skip gears, not that it fully automatically operates the clutch or throttle cut. To be able to change gear you need to unload the transmission so that the dog rings can unmesh. You can do this by using the clutch, or by lifting off the throttle. Since the FBM's transmission does neither by itself, you have to do it.
Thank you very much for you answers. You have cleared my ideas!
