I believe he wasn't seriously hurt, just suffering minor burns. In fact, I think he returned to the paddock later in the day (or the following morning), although not to take part in any driving.
... Man some people really are morons. There's several replays of the video and a few photo-montages of the accident posted on youtube, and many of them have idiots claiming this to be a fake. I really, really, really do hate people.
Now, OT, that looks like a pretty scary ride. Glad to hear the driver is fine. Is there a copy of the full race up anywhere yet? I'm really interested in this GT3/GT4 stuff and I'd love to see some proper races.
Is this the same series that the KTM X-Bow is racing in, or is than an FIA GT3/4 series? Only source I've seen for it is Endurance-Info.com and I haven't gotten around to trying to understand the translations from French that Babelfish craps out.
There are lots of repeats on Motors TV next week and for those of us without Sky it's shown on Channel 4 in a weeks time. Hopefully someone will rip it and put it online.
That accident is pretty scary and a reminder of why there are always two fire cars and only one ambulance at test sessions and track days.
He is just trolling every video of the crash (from at least 4-5 different angles) saying stuff like "All I meant was that it is quite easy to make fake videos like this using photoshop. The shadows are not quite and notice how the smoke blows in a different direction to the flag. Just because you saw it on television doesn't make it real."
EDIT - Even for a Troll he is quite funny though - "Me and my mates can't believe you are all so dumb and getting taken in by this clever trickery, i'm guessing you must be from the US or something, I've got a top of the range pc and could easily make a fake video like this in about 30 minutes, in fact I might just make one and then laugh my ass off when you jerks all comment on how real it is."
