The actor, who rose to fame in the sitcom My Family and the BT ads, was enjoying a night out on Saturday when he was hit by a car outside a pub. He was rushed to a Bristol hospital with a serious head injury, reports The Sun.

A friend of Kris told the paper, "Kris’s family have been extremely worried. He’s awake, but obviously, with any head injury, there are fears.”

A spokesperson for the hospital said, "Kris was in an accident and sustained a head injury. He is in a stable condition."

Marshall's next film is horror comedy Hotel Caledonia. He also starred in last year's British comedy Death At A Funeral.

Good news is it doesn't appear to be a life-threatening injury.

Nick was the best character in My Family and it's just not the same without him. I love Ben as well, but the relationship between the two of them was classic.
