Lorenzo Highside...into orbit [SPOILER ALERT]
Ouch, Moto GP is getting really good this year and it really didn't need that.
Ouch, GTA4 style
Ouch there goes Lornzo out for atleast one month
Aarrgh that was not good...though with him being a biker he'll be back sooner rather than latter.

Bikers.....Crazy or brave I can't decide

Ouch!

Yowzer! And not an LFS barrier in sight!!
Quote from SamH :Yowzer! And not an LFS barrier in sight!!

LOL Sam! Hopefully he is ok
That pic is a bit funny at first sight, but that must have hurt
I'm not a Lorenzo fan, but it's so sad to see such things happening.

Either way, they are heroes!!!

Rumour is, he (Lorenzo) is still going to ride, despite a broken ankle
After looking at a few more videos on Youtube of Lorenzo, he doesn't seem to have much luck keeping it rubber side down.

None the less that was some impressive air time.
Ouch

Is there something in the stars or something?

In the last week:
Ortelli - broke ankle in huge crash @ Monza
Kovalinen (?) - Massive crash @ Catalunya
Franchitti - Broke Ankle (?) in NASCAR
Lorenzo - Broke Ankle in MotoGP

Anyone else?

Are you suggesting in some way that the human race will be ended by an epidemic of ankle injuries? If you are then I think you might be right, my horoscope told me to watch out for the ankle bandits today.

Back on topic, OUCH! Rossi's reaction says it all, thats probably the biggest highside I have seen since this one...

Bad, BAD crash. THough it was said on eurosport that he will ride tomorrow. So we'll see. Hopefully he does and gets the pole again.
If he rides i wouldn't expect him to get a pole, maybe a 6th at best.
I can't feel too bad for the guy because he is a total cock, but I hope he does manage to race and finish in a good position.
Lorenzo is a real hero getting 4th in qualifying and getting a race distance done in the morning session.

Sod him though. Colin Edwards - what a boy!

He is, however, I think the eurosport commentators have a point, if the rider can't get on the bike under his own steam, Lorenzo is having to be lifted on and off the bike, is he fit enough, and safe enough, to ride .

If he causes an accident tomorrow, I think questions will be asked, the guy can't even walk on his own.
I wondered about that myself. Not just controlling the bike, but what if he falls off? There's always a chance a rider who falls will not be able to walk to safety, but with him it is 100% certain.

I am surprised after seeing him remain on the bike through FP and Q that Dr Costa has cleared him to ride.
That sucked big time, Im not a Lorenzo fan by any means but the show him and Pedrosa (with Rossi and Casey) are giving this year is truly awesome, even more if you're spanish since the whole country is divided between Dani and him

About the crash, those slide-grip-highsides are always the worst, Im amazed most times they just walk away cursing by not being able to keep riding, and Im not too sure about his decission of riding with the broken ankle being the right one, but in the end its the doctor's decission, not his.

Would hate to see his season ruined by selfdestructing himself, we need every Lorenzo there is on track!

I guess coming 4th in quali and doing a full race distance doesn't make him fit enough or safe enough to ride in a race. You, me, and most other people on this forum would take a day off work if we sneezed in the morning, Lorenzo is an arrogant self centered **** but he has a dedication and determination to actually get on the bike after smashing his feet up very badly, and you have to respect that.
If he has an off in the race, I'd bet my teeth the adrenaline would be enough to see him hop out of the way if needs be (unless he sustains other injuries not related to those he already has).

Gotta give the man some credit - it's not as though he won't need his ankle whilst racing!
Is the shifter or the rear brake on the right? Shifter aye? That's a bit of a problem. If they would swap out the brake and the shifter it would prolly be easier, though then you have to reacustom yourself and it'd be impossible to shift when standing, stepping down with the right on the other hand would prolly cause pains...

Did you actually see the qualifying this morning?, if he races like he rode in qualifying, he WILL be a danger to everyone.

I give he credit for what he is doing, but is it safe?

If he wrecks half the grid in the race then its not safe, if he finishes the race then it is.
